- Medical Weight Loss“After having two babies and later a significant weight loss I noticed my breast were sagging. After seeing a picture of myself in a swimming suit with a cover-up over it I was shocked at how I looked. It was then that I wanted to investigate how to have my breasts look like when I was younger. My consultation with Dr. Yousif was very thorough. He professionally and realistically explained what to expect. I had been saving for a “rainy day” and this was that day. The procedure went well as did my recovery. My scarring is barely detectable. Dr. Yousif felt that the results were comparable to that of implants! It was one of the best things I have done for myself. I would highly recommend him as an excellent surgeon!”

- UltrasoundLiposuction may be done to improve body shape by removing exercise-resistant fat deposits with a tube and vacuum device. It may be performed using the tumescent technique, where targeted areas are infused with saline (salt water) containing solution and a local anesthetic before liposuction to decrease post-operative bruising, swelling, and discomfort. Common areas for liposuction include chin, cheeks, neck, upper arms, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, and knees. For fibrous spotty areas or scared areas ultrasound/assisted lipoplasty (UAL) may be performed.
- MRIAll implant shells have a potential for rupture. The FDA states that silicone rupture rates are 1% per implant per year. That means that after 10 years 10% of silicone implants would potentially be ruptured. Unfortunately, silicone implants have what’s called a “silent rupture.” That means that even though the implants maybe ruptured it may not show changes in the volume of the breasts. Silicone implant rupture is best diagnosed with an MRI. In fact, the FDA recommends that a patient with silicone implants should have an MRI 3 years after placement of those implants and every 2 years after that.
- ChemotherapyThe FDA states that “Breast Implant Associated Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is not breast cancer – it is a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cancer of the immune system). In most cases, BIA-ALCL is found in the scar tissue and fluid near the implant, but in some cases, it can spread throughout the body. An individual’s risk of developing BIA-ALCL is considered to be low; however, this cancer is serious and can lead to death, especially if not treated promptly. In most patients, it is treated successfully with surgery to remove the implant and surrounding scar tissue, and in some patients, also treatment with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.” The total number of identified cases has only been 573 individuals at the time of this report. Considering that worldwide almost 1 million patients have implants placed, the risk of that cancer is very low. 83% of those cancers have been associated with Biocell type texture implants. Those implants have since been removed from the market. Diagnosis is made by direct biopsy but the patient can have symptoms such as swelling or unrelenting pain. In most cases, complete removal of the capsule cures the cancer. The FDA is not currently recommending removal of Biocell implants without associated symptoms.

- BotoxIn most cases, non-surgical facial rejuvenation is done in the office with a combination of treatments to reduce the visual appearance of aging. That may include Botox, a filler such as Juvéderm, lasers, and other skin treatments. The best options for each person are those that most closely fit the desires of each person and should be discussed in detail.
- Brow LiftThe Endoscopic Brow Lift procedure may be performed to correct drooping eyebrows which sometimes contributes to hooding over the eyes. It can also be used to open the eyes and create a youthful attractive appearance. In previous traditional methods, a long incision across the top of the head was made, behind the hairline to elevate the scalp and eyebrows. The endoscope method, however, uses 3 small incisions above the hairline to elevate and reposition the eyebrows.
- Eyelid SurgeryBlepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, means changing the upper or lower lids. It can be used to correct upper eyelid skin excess or puffiness. The lower lids are more complicated. There can be puffiness below the eyes which is usually due to lower lid fat protrusion. There may also be excess skin. By removing excess skin, fat, or muscle the lids can have a more aesthetic youthful appearance.
- LiposuctionSmaller areas of liposuction may be performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation but multiple larger areas are more often performed under general anesthesia.
- Breast AugmentationThese are just a few of the possibilities – either done in isolation or in combination with another procedure such as Breast Augmentation with Lift.
- Breast ReductionBreast Reduction is a procedure designed to relieve the discomforts caused by large, heavy breasts including: Back, neck, and shoulder pain, shoulder discomfort and indentations from bra straps and potential skin irritation beneath the breasts. Enlarged breasts can cause those various discomforts as well as limiting the patient’s potential for physical activity. In severe cases it can even affect nerves that go to the arms. Excess breast tissue, skin, and fat are removed to make the breasts smaller and to improve the associated conditions that are associated with large breasts.
- Breast LiftAt times, the breasts can be both low and have a lack of volume. In those cases, a combination of breast lift with augmentation may be indicated. These procedures can be difficult if done in combination, in part because of the need for the central part of the breast and the implant to match in position. Both the implant and the nipple can also drift downward after surgery and those processes do not always match. The difficulty of these procedures has been published about. Understanding that there may need to be small touch ups when the surgery has settled to correct any asymmetry is important if you are considering those procedures in combination.
- RhinoplastyThe term rhinoplasty is also known as “nose job” is the reshaping of the nose for aesthetic concerns. This can be a simple procedure if only minor changes are needed or it can be a difficult and complex operation. Many surgeons and residents find this operation to be difficult because they do not have significant experience in the procedure.
- Breast ReconstructionThere are many options available today in breast reconstruction. A woman’s anatomy, the surgeon’s recommendations and your desired results will together determine which method is best for you. Breast reconstruction can create a very natural-looking breast for women. Often, only a lumpectomy is needed which most often does not require any time of breast reconstruction. If a mastectomy (is needed, then breast reconstruction can be done either at the time of the mastectomy (primary reconstruction) or after at a second stage (secondary reconstruction). Breast reconstruction tries to recreate national-looking breasts for those who have experienced mastectomy.

- Face LiftFace lifts are helpful for eliminating loose skin folds in the neck and laxity of tissues, as well as loss of volume or facial descent. Although face lift requires skin incisions, which results in permanent scars, those scars in front of and behind the ears, if done correctly, usually become inconspicuous over time. Some areas not well corrected by a face lift including the nasolabial folds, perioral fine lines, or marionette lines.
- Neck LiftThe hyoid suspension neck lift is a procedure developed by Dr. Yousif. He has performed this operation over the last 15 years. It attaches the platysma to the hyoid and forms the contour of a youthful neck. The procedure makes dramatic changes in the neck and its results are extremely long lasting. A recent review showed that the results last for more than 10 years.
- BlepharoplastyOperative time is approximately 1 hours for upper or lower lids alone and 2 hours for both upper and lower lids. Blepharoplasty is often combined with other facial procedures.
- AbdominoplastyThe Tummy Tuck procedure, also known as abdominoplasty, is intended for women and men who have loose abdominal skin, and/or a significant amount of abdominal fat that is not improved by dieting or exercise. You may be a good candidate for abdominoplasty if you have one or more of the following conditions...

- GynecomastiaGynecomastia is breast enlargement in men. In young men breasts can enlarge after puberty but generally resolves with time. Weight gain, hormonal changes, certain medications and drugs can affect breast size.
- Cosmetic SurgeryThe early implants were filled with liquid silicone. Silicone implants were taken off the market in the early 1990’s for cosmetic surgery and then placed back into the market in 2006. The reason for that is that there was a question of whether silicone implants could cause various types of autoimmune reactions in the body. Most large studies have not shown that association but some questions may still persist. That is an important discussion to have with your surgeon. The advantages of silicone implants are that they may be softer to the feel than saline implants. They may also have less visible rippling especially if they are placed above the muscle in a person who has very little breast tissue.
- Forehead LiftReturn to work or social environments is usually 7-10 days. This may be sooner if an endoscopic forehead lift is performed. Avoidance of more strenuous activity is recommended for 3-4 weeks. Total recovery from bruising and generalized swelling may take anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks. Limiting sun exposure is recommended for several months.
