With one of its offices in Melrose Park, Ill., the department also helps low-income families meet their home energy needs. The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services additionally manages the Office of Healthcare Purchasing, which is responsible for non-Medicaid procurement of health care services.

This place is so messed up. They never ever ever answer the phone . i waited months for a interview . i was finally told to come in and get my link card. I go in they give me a card. It's going on 3weeks this card is still invalid no food stamps . i call and call. I have a little 4 year old daughter that im now out stealing whatever i can to get food to feed my family . and i have trades cant even get a damn job right now

These people are the definition of rude! They hardly help Wiith anything and apparently they never hear the phone ring since it seem. Like nobody ever picks it up...I hate dealing with this place

called this number several times, no answer, voice box was full then it hung up on me. So I went inside the building to speak to someone. The wait time was very long. when I final was called on, the lady that waited on me was rude when I asked my questions. I felt rushed and didn't get the information that I needed and I am still at a loss as to what to do. I wish this place actually had people that answer the phone and help the clients that call in with questions. Is this really too much to ask?

They never Answer its always a waste of time to call then when u go in person u wait over an hour in line just to ask a question that they most of the time Rudely Answer. Get it Togather People.

I called this number and put it on speaker and let it ring and ring until I realized 18 mins went by and no answer! But I was told to call my caseworker when I have my baby, I had my baby a week ago and been calling since we made it home from the hospital, No Answer, ever!!! I know it's an assistance program but people still should be treated with some respect!! Just awful the way they don't answer the phone!!!

I've been trying to call this number for 2 weeks and no one ever answers,then you received a letter stating to call your case worker, tell me how am I to contact my case worker when NO ONE answers the phone!!!. This is a very bad way to handle business.
