Our new facility offers both off and on-street parking. Bowen therapy is a gentle and effective manual therapy that balances tension patterns in the body, resulting in a state of deep relaxation, and relieving many types of dysfunction in the body. Our practice is named after Tom Bowen who was decades ahead of his time with the way he worked with the human body. He understood the body's innate intelligence and its ability to heal. He worked in ways to enhance what the body already knew. The Arndt-Schulze law states that the body responds more deeply and positively to low-pressure stimuli than it does to painful strong stimuli. Tom Bowen discovered and employed this principle long before the Arndt-Schulze law had been formulated. All the therapies that are used here at Carlisle Bowen Works follow this principal that Tom Bowen began working with in Australia in the 1950's.
