- Dental CareGood dental health is just as important to your dog or cat as it is to you. You wouldn't go days, weeks, months or years without brushing your teeth or seeing a dentist, right? Neither should your animal companion. If your pet's teeth and gums aren't cleaned regularly, there's a much greater chance that they'll develop a number of unpleasant oral health problems, from bad breath and broken teeth to dental disease, a serious yet common condition that can wreak havoc on your pet's entire body. At Henry County Animal Hospital, we want to help your pet beat the odds and achieve a lifetime of good oral health.
- VaccinationIn order to achieve our goal of making every stay at our boarding facility as positive and safe an experience as possible, we must ask that all pets staying with us be up to date on all of their required vaccinations and completely flea-free prior to their arrival. If you have questions about this, or would like to have these services performed, simply make an appointment in advance of your dates of travel and we'll be happy to make sure your companion is ready to board with us.
- Comprehensive ExaminationWellness visits at Henry County Animal Hospital are extremely thorough. We want to take as much time as necessary to provide your pet with the complete care he or she needs to stay happy and healthy. Our veterinarians will conduct an in-depth physical exam to assess your pet's external and internal health. We may recommend certain diagnostic tests as well to further evaluate your companion's wellbeing. We'll also use this time to discuss such important matters as weight and nutrition, parasite prevention, behavior and anything else either you or the vet deem to be important to your companion's overall health.
- Pain ManagementThe surgical process at Henry County Animal Hospital begins with a thorough pre-operative exam, including diagnostic testing, to be certain that your pet is well enough to undergo surgery. Certain pets, such as those that are older or that suffer from existing medical conditions, may be considered higher risk and must therefore be treated with an extra level of care. If we receive the thumbs up to proceed, we'll then begin developing a customized pain management plan for your pet. We want to keep them as comfortable as possible while also minimizing risk, so we'll tailor the pain control to your companion's specific needs and risk factors.
- Veterinary SurgeryWhen the procedure is complete, we'll carefully relocate your pet to our recovery area, where they will continue to be closely monitored. Once we feel it's safe enough to send them home, we'll give you a call to explain how everything went and schedule a pickup time. Before you bring your pet home, a member of our team will explain any post-surgical care instructions that we may have, including pain management, if necessary, to help your pet recover as comfortably as possible. Should you have any questions or concerns about your pet's surgery or after-care once you return home, we encourage you to call us right away. We're always happy to help!
- Laboratory ServicesWith many illnesses and injuries, time is of the essence and the faster we can identify, diagnose and treat the problem, the better the chances of a positive outcome. Our hospital features a state of the art in-house laboratory, which allows us to run a wide variety of diagnostic tests right within our clinic. Having a lab on-site enhances the speed with which we can gather results, which allows us to work more quickly and efficiently. In many cases, we are able to retrieve and interpret test results while you and your pet are still in our office.
