Jay Johnson is an award-winning personal trainer, nutrition coach and the founder of Team MLP / Muscle Lab Performance in Charlotte, NC. Training for twelve years, Jay has worked with a wide variety of clientele such as competitive bodybuilders (bodybuilding/physique/bikini/figure), models for photoshoots/appearances, race car drivers of various backgrounds including NASCAR, IMSA and World of Outlaws winners, NCAA and professional athletes including NFL SuperBowl champions, mountain climbers and law enforcement/military personnel. Jay started Team MLP with a bang, being named to Elevate Lifestyle Magazine's Top 30 Under 30 in Charlotte alongside the likes of Cam Newton and Webb Simpson within 6 months of starting his business. This has since been followed up by being named Best of the City by Elevate Lifestyle 7 consecutive times for personal training with the last two years bringing awards for best nutrition coach as well. Jay is also an experienced fitness writer, with work that can be found on Bodybuilding.com, GeneticWAR.com and ElevateLifestyle.com addressing issues that many of us face in the gym ranging from motivation, to technique, to choosing the correct foods to eat on a daily basis. Jay integrates his one-of-a-kind training philosophies into his work, reflecting years of research and much hands-on testing in the gym. These newly developed techniques and principles aim to not only create a greater result but to do so in a more user-friendly and maintainable manner. These developed methods have been specifically designed to accelerate the results-making process, as Jay feels that success lies within a series of adjustments that fit YOUR life. Jay just recently launched his all new app, the Team MLP Virtua Trainer which aims to simplify the lifestyle changing process even more! With features such as automatic activity syncing from your favorite devices, workouts on demand with 4000+ 3D exercise videos included, full nutrition logging capability and complete progress tracking, results have officially become more attainable with Team MLP than ever.
