Took a brand new (with the tags still on it) dress to Sparkle cleaners in Mantua to have it pressed for the wedding I went to this past Sunday. Picked it up a few days later, brought it home, hung it up and took the bag off. Tried the dress on to see how it looked with my shoes, now that it had been pressed, and saw dark, shadowy blotches all over the sleeves, lighter blotchy marks on the front and back of the dress. Immediately took it off, put it back on the hanger and returned to the cleaners the next morning since they were closed for the day. Spoke to the young man at the counter who offered to clean it again (mind you, I never wanted it cleaned in the first place, only wanted it pressed). I told him this, said that it wouldn't do any good to clean it again because I needed it for the next day, and it wouldn't be ready by then. I pushed the issue and wanted to speak to the owner, who wasn't there. The young man called a woman who he claimed was the owner, explained the situation, told her that he could see the dress was ruined, continued back and forth with this woman for at least 15 minutes while I repeatedly told him I didn't want it re-cleaned, I wanted a refund and to be reimbursed the cost of my dress that they ruined, and that I could no longer wear. He repeated my concerns to the woman on the phone. I was told to come in on Tuesday when the owner would be in and they would give me my money. I told them I couldn't be there until after 5pm due to work. They assured me that was fine. I go today (Tuesday, as I was told to) at 5:15. I am met by a woman who claims to be the new owner, and she tells me my dress is out being cleaned again, and they will not refund anything until it comes back and see if they can get the marks out. I tell her it still does no good to have it cleaned again, because my event is now over, I had to find another dress to wear. After minutes of back and forth issues, she claims to call the original owner, and says the he refuses to refund anything. I can't hear anyone on the other end of the phone, so I have no idea what he is saying, if there is even a person on the other end. I'm not going to walk out of there without being refunded my money both for their services that ruined my dress, and for the cost of the dress that I paid. She still won't budge on the refund. She claims that she will talk to the owner again tomorrow when he comes in (from 10 to 2) and see what they can do, but she tells me yet again, that he will not refund anything. I have no choice but to leave at this point with the whole issue unresolved. Went back today hoping for resolution and my dress back, I was instead met with an angry owner (the new one) who berated me for bashing her on Facebook. Exchanged some words, refused to leave until I get a refund and my dress. She then called the police on me. Still no resolution, still no dress. So much for the new owners turning this place around and making good on services that they ruined.
