A Short Bio. about Kent Bergeron, Jr., the Owner Construction/building and the business of construction have been a part of my family’s life for generations. My first swing was a rope tied on a small extended boom on a hoe at my Grandfather’s equipment yard. When I was a teen, my father inherited his father’s company, but moved the operations to Mississippi from the New Orleans’ area. This company owned heavy equipment and residential development was the chief concentration. He developed some of the most beautiful lakes and planned communities in Mississippi. During that period while I was in school, he loaned me out to every contractor and subcontractor he knew. Throughout those days, my father and other good contractors were my role models. They taught me a range of disciplines from dirt to concrete to roof and everything in between; those lessons I still lean on to this day. These men were from a different time; they were true artisans. Now I have been building homes for 21 years. We build all over which is why we changed the name from Acadian Design (my father’s choice) to Gulf Atlantic Contractors. I have built well over 350 homes and well over 200 renovations. I truly love building and making the world a bit better than it was yesterday.
