- Prince William Forest Park is a sanctuary of natural beauty and a playground of outdoor bliss. This park is the largest protected natural area in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region at over 15, 000 acres, Prince William offers an array of outdoor recreation and facilities. With activities including 37 miles of hiking trails, 21 miles of bicycle accessible roads and trails, family, group and backcountry camping as well as rustic cabin camping, and a full-service, concessionaire-operated RV campground. They also offer picnicking in picnic areas or the picnic pavilion, wildlife watching, and a few winter activities like cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
