Dr. Franczuszki is a wonderful, caring doctor who performed a total hip replacement and knee surgery on my black lab. He took a lot of time to explain everything clearly, from the x-rays to the surgery and the recovery. I felt my precious dog was in the best hands possible and he was. My dog is happy, healthy, and back to his energetic self. I highly recommend Dr. F. and the entire staff at VRC.

i.e., A local favorite, or highWe took our dog here after preliminary tests at her regular vet revealed elevated liver enzymes. Her ultrasound at VRC showed her gallbladder was ruptured, she had digestive tearing, gallstones, and her elevated enzymes were digesting her pancreas. Basically, without immediate surgery, she would have died. She is only six, so of course we were going to do everything in our power to save her even if the surgery had only a 50/50 shot of being successful. We wanted her to have the best diagnosticians, surgeons, and nurses, and that's (which is why OUR VET suggested we go to VRC) exactly what we got. Everyone was very kind during what was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences imaginable, and we cannot thank the staff enough-- today, our dog is like a puppy again!

I brought my cat here because ...

I brought my cat here because my local vet referred me. He thought my cat might have cancer. Not only was Dr. Shelling trying to get me out before answering any questions, but he conducted additional expensive tests without my permission and then, when I tried to get the results for these tests, his office told me he was unavailable, they couldn t tell me the results and said that my local vet would have to explain the results to me. My local vet disagreed with Dr. Shellings diagnosis, and I wanted to talk to Dr. Shelling about what his diagnosis was because it sounded more optimistic for my cat. I called EVERY day for a week and he never called me back. His receptionist just kept saying every day, I m so sorry, I promise he will call you later today. I waited diligently by the phone and nothing FOR DAYS. My plea kept slipping through the cracks. Eventually I got a voice mail out of the blue saying he d left me an email. I was so happy. I thought maybe I d read an email about what was wrong with my cat and maybe I could help him. But when I checked it there was nothing. I checked my spam.... nothing. I called the next two days multiple times, literally BEGGING his secretary to let me talk to him. Nope. I m sorry. He;s unavailable. She said each time. Now all I can do is try experimental medicines with my cat prescribed by my local vet. He will probably die soon. I want another diagnosis so badly, Yes, I m in pain because I m losing my pet, and maybe that makes me unreasonable getting so mad about being dismissed by this hospital. I just wish Dr. Shelling had taken the time to explain if he had a different diagnosis for my cat, especially after charging me for a test he would never explain. This hospital does not care about its clients, does not follow up, and doesn t care about the wellbeing of animals. They just care about taking your money. If Dr. Shelling ever gets around to it, I beg that he email or call Virgil Wahlberg s owner and tell me what my options are.

The surgeons are good but the desk & reception staff are rude, hostile, and uncaring. We have never been treated so shabbily. If the doctors knew how their employees treated the clients, maybe there would be changes. Will not ever go back. There are other specialist vets with nice employees.

Excellence in Surgery and Care for your Pet

Unfortunately our dog Boomer was diagnosed with a completely torn ACL. We searched high and low to find an expert in the field to fix our dog's knee. We found the best...Dr Dietrich Franczuszki. Our dog Boomer is not the friendliest, but the staff and nurses of VRC treated him like royalty. He was cared for as if he was one of the family. Boomer has completely healed and is using his knee normally.

Boomer can now run, play and swim with other dogs, enjoying life to the fullest. We highly recommend Veterinary Referral Center. You definately get much more than what you pay for! Thnak you VRC.

Bad experience Nov 2009

No stars for a place with eyes only on the green and not on the pets. R&R the owners- that is their motto.

You leave with the same problem you walked in but have no money.
