Services / Products
Simply put, our passion is providing exceptional quality care for each child in our home- away-from-home environment. It’s our philosophy that your child will learn and develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually in a fun, multi-age environment. Our programs are designed to give your child the tools to become self-confident, self-aware and eager to learn, grow, explore and imagine. We recognize that curriculum is more than what appears in manuals or a series of activities. We believe curriculum is everything that happens in the classroom, from interactions and meals to singing and playing. We never miss an opportunity to educate in the classroom or on one of our fun field trips. The goal of our program is to provide exceptional quality child care in a warm, loving, positive, family environment. The children are offered an environment rich with age-appropriate activities. This includes: indoor/outdoor play, early literacy, Spanish class, artwork, music and movement, cooking, dramatic play, science, water play and many hands on experiences. A group activity is scheduled each day, and the children are invited to participate. Other activities may include story time, free play, field trips, snack/meal times and quiet or nap time (approx. 12:00 – 3:00). Every child’s cultural or religious background will be respected in daily activities. We do not have any daily religious practices. Each child is offered individual attention each day, as well as lots of attention as part of the group. Television is limited, and outdoor play is encouraged when weather permits. Children too young to take part in specific activities will be kept nearby (safely), so that they can feel part of the group. In addition to meeting their basic needs, infants will be offered changes in environment, such as a swing, buzzy seat, being held, carried in a Snuggli, etc. Schedules are set according to children’s needs. Field trips may be scheduled from time to time to offer the children new learning opportunities and a change of pace. Examples of planned field trips might be: The Madison Children’s Museum, mall play area, Keva Sports, area parks or an apple orchard. Parents are encouraged to come along on these outings. On occasion, the children will go on unannounced mini-trips, such as a walk to the park, a trip to the library, or to run brief errands; if so, a note will be posted to let you know where we’ve gone. To ensure safety and quality care for all that take part in these outings we take attendance before we leave, while we are on our outing and when we return. No child/ren shall be left in any vehicle unattended. Transportation for outings will be provided in a licensed, insured vehicle, and seat belts or car seats will be used as mandated by Wisconsin Law.
Associations
As a fully accredited family day care, Bright Beginning’s two muti-age locations are closely monitored to make sure we meet the accreditation standards. In many cases we exceed those standards. City of Madison Accreditation is offered to family child care providers only through Satellite. Bright Beginnings meets all City of Madison accreditation standards and meets all Satellite membership requirements. As an accredited provider Bright Beginnings can care for children whose care is subsidized by the City of Madison. Satellite consultants visit providers a minimum of 5 times per year to ensure they are meeting the standards, and each provider goes through the re-accreditation process annually. Only accredited providers appear on the Satellite referral list. As a Satellite accredited program Bright Beginnings is recognized with a 4-star rating in Wisconsin’s YoungStar Program quality rating and improvement system for child care.
