General Info

A specialist in general surgery, Dr. Katz is part of the bariatric surgical team at St. John Weight Loss Center and performs the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and laparoscopic band placement (Lap-Band). He received his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa, and completed both his internship and his residency at Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan. He is certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgeons. Additionally, he is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Oakland County Medical Society, and the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. He is in practice with Oakland Macomb Surgical Group in Madison Heights.
