General Info: The Baker County Detention Center, located in Macclenny, Fla., is a division of the Baker County Sheriff's Office. The detention center is operational 24 hours, seven days a week. The division is comprised of more than 20 full-time and part-time employees. The center is a 130-bed facility and is divided into five sections that include the jail, food service, medical service, operations center and inmate work squads. It assists other government agencies by assigning minimum custody inmates to assist government employees, such as animal control, court house, county maintenance, the landfill and the Baker County school system. The inmates are also involved in community work by cleaning and beautifying the area.
