2013--Went the their emergency room in in early evening in severe pain from a then-undiagnosed medical problem. I was treated as if I was a drug addict just wanting drugs; the staff was unattentive and insensitive to my plight. Further, after they finally decided to give me pain meds after I pleaded for 3 hours for them, they sent me home saying all the blood work and ultrasound they did was normal...oh, well.... I was sent home to languish overnight after their pain meds wore off. I ended up going to my GE, who had me go through more intensive diagnosing imaging.... The staff at St. Joseph's North need to understand that not every patient in pain showing up in ER is a drug addict. Some are ACTUALLY SICK! They need to do their jobs, and improve their bedside manners and empathy towards patients! And yea, hit the roof when I got their bill for "services." Unless you're bleeding and they can actually see your injury or illness, don't go here!!!!

This hospital should not be associated with the St. Joseph on MLK. I was very disappointed when I went, because I thought it was a similar service than the one on Martin Luther King Blvd. The people at the front desk of the ER were very rude and helpless. The doctor was not really interested in knowing the problem. The service was very slow, even though there was hardly anybody inside the ER. The nurses were the only ones that were nice, whenever you could find them. Not a good place to go if you have an emergency. Go to the one on Martin Luther King Blvd. I would give zero stars to St. Jo North’s, but the rating system requires at least one star.
