• Cataract Surgery
  Refractive Lens Exchange surgery (RLE)  is performed in a similar way as cataract surgery. During the procedure, the natural crystalline lens is removed and replaced with an Intraocular lens implant, or IOL. The only difference is that the natural crystalline lens has not developed or has not fully developed cataracts yet. After getting RLE, you will also never have to undergo cataract surgery.

  The retina has small blood vessels that can be damaged by chronically high blood sugar levels or high blood pressure. Diabetic Retinopathy occurs when these vessels start to leak, or hemorrhage, distorting one’s vision. Often, the abnormal blood vessels that develop in Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (PDR) can create traction ( VMT ) on the delicate retinal surface. Vitrectomy surgery is often required for traction and retinal detachments associated with proliferative diabetic retinopathy.

  Inflammation may affect the conjunctiva, a highly specialized skin covering the front of the eye. It may be caused by allergies, reactions to chemicals or infections. Infections may be caused by viruses, fungi, bacteria or protozoa. If the infection affects the cornea, it may cause a corneal ulcer. Corneal infections are associated with redness, pain, light sensitivity, and reduced vision in the affected eye. Any infection in the cornea can lead to scar formation. Scarring can reduce the quality of vision, so prompt diagnosis and treatment of infections is critical. Risk factors for corneal infections include contact lens wear, injury or eye trauma.
