This is a restaurant that is not worth one's time nor money. The service was not good at all. It took forever to get our order and we were dining after the lunch rush where there was only about 10 people all together dining at the time. Our wait staff took a long time on waing on us at the first and we only saw them once more during our experience when they brought our food out. We never got drink refills afer we received our food. Our food, was sub-par and not at all cooked the way we wanted it but being that we had to wait so long to get our meal, we didn't complain in fear that there would be an even longer wait to to receive our plates back and actually get to eat, so we opted to just choke down what we had. We won't ever returnn to this restaurant again. There are so many more good places out there to enjoy and this one was absolutely Lousy.

This restaurant has changed from one of the best to one you should AVOID!

Update: Fifteen days ago, we notified TXLC's home office of this event documented below and asked how they planned to correct the deficiencies. They have NOT responded during the past 15 days. Since the event of Feb. 29, 2008, KCBD-TV ran their ""Food for Thought"" series on 3/6/2008 where TXLC was cited with 11 critical violations! Something appears to have gone terribly wrong with a formerly acceptable restaurant. I respect the ?Food for Thought? series as it has faithfully alerted customers to the best and worst of Lubbock cuizine. Their revelation of 11 critical violations, plus our experience below, should stand as sufficient warnings for the wary. There is NO excuse for management's failure to respond or correct these problems!

Four of us met at TXLC for steaks on Feb 29, 2008. Two events happened that will cost them our future business. First, we were told by the waiter that happy hour margaritas were $2.50 each, so we ordered a couple. He later returned to inform us that the happy hour price was only for those seated at the bar. Our price was now $8.50 each. We politely declined the overpriced margaritas.

The second disaster happened while reading the menu. Our waiter used his bare hands to remove my slice of bread from my plate, used a napkin to wipe the table top and then used the napkin to polish up my plate, and then he returned my bread to my plate. I politely complained to the manager who gave me a blank stare. Perhaps she was rendered speechless by the waiter?s stupid actions? The four of us left TXLC and enjoyed a great meal and great service at Orlando?s Italian Restaurant two blocks north on Indiana Ave. There is no excuse for poor management and poor training! Fortunately, there are a plenty of great restaurants in Lubbock. Texas Land & Cattle Steak House is no longer one of them, so if you want steaks, try Texas Roadhouse or Logan?s or Cagle's instead.

This place is great for dates and I had such a wonderful experience her I will most definantly be back! The food was cooked to perfection, and the service was awesome!

This was the best dine-in experience, ever. Great food, and great service.
