My entire experience was extremely uncomfortable and awkward. This was absolutely nothing like when it was Bolton. I've been going to Bolton for about 4 years. There were a lot of people standing around. Everybody seemed to be confused about what they were supposed to be doing. They didn't get around to cleaning the windows until I was already having the oil changed while that used to happen while you were waiting in line. For some reason, they had me pop the hood while still waiting in line before I even got to the service bay. They explained that it was going to cost about $8 more than it used to but said the oil was better, which I doubt, honestly. Then they asked me if I wanted to change the cabin filter for $40. Not knowing any better, I said sure because it was filthy. It had never come up before and I didn't know any better like I should have. They could have told me that it was a lot cheaper to do it on my own. The replacement took literally no effort and all of ten seconds and filters are cheaper than $10 online so they took me for $30. It all seemed like a classic, dishonest maneuver to squeeze more money out of you while I felt like Bolton always tried to save me money. My anxiety disorder and the whole experience was already making me wish I hadn't come in the first place so I feel like they caught me in one of those sales traps. It was like being at a car dealership and I'm not used to oil change places coming at me that way so I was unprepared and learned a hard lesson that cost me real money. Here's the kicker - My car requires oil changes every 5,000 to 10,000 miles depending on how much I drive it. Bolton always printed a sticker for 5,000 miles to err on the safe side while still acknowledging the long life of modern synthetic oils. Take 5 only labeled it for 3,000 miles as if I were driving a 30 year old car. Almost nobody needs an oil change at 3,000 miles these days. That was the shadiest of everything. Suffice it to say, I won't be back there.
