- Electrical Muscle StimulationElectrical Muscle Stimulation or E-Stim includes a group of therapies that use electrode pads on the skin with a small electrical current. This current is intended to either fatigue or relax the muscle, or to decrease overall pain in the area involved. It can also help restore muscle tone to its proper level. Some therapies that are included in the E-Stim category are Premod, Interferential, Hi-Volt, Low-Volt, and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation).
- Chiropractic AdjustmentsFrom Dr. Kauffman: "Migraines are notoriously difficult to treat. This is because they usually have multiple triggers, sometimes ten or more. It is very common that one of the triggers is over activity of the nerves in the top of the neck. This over activity can trigger headaches in the majority of the patients we see who suffer from chronic migraines. The chiropractic adjustments are very effective at reducing the nerve interference in the top of the neck and base of the skull. This can help to reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. I have seen a handful of patients with chronic migraines who have reported that their migraines disappeared after a series of adjustments. However, it is usually not our goal to completely eliminate headaches from a person who suffers from migraines with multiple triggers, but rather to lessen the frequency and severity so the patient has a better quality of life."

- SubluxationEvery function of your body is controlled by your central nervous system, and this function may be disrupted by misalignments in your spine. These are called subluxations. A subluxation creates interference in the function of your spinal nerves, and this may result in impaired functioning of your organs and endocrine system.
- Manipulation TherapyMigraine: Migraine is a severe form of headache that can have a dramatic impact on your quality of life. Studies have found that chiropractic manipulation can reduce both the frequency and the duration of migraines. Learn more about migraines.
- Spinal DecompressionDr. Kauffman has worked with many patients in Loveland, OH who are struggling with back pain, neck pain, sciatica, or other musculoskeletal problems. One of the procedures we use in our office to help our patients is spinal decompression treatments.
- Myofascial TherapyManual therapy includes specific stretches that the doctor uses, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, PNF stretching, and many other techniques used to rehabilitate and relax muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and connective tissues. This is done to increase mobility, restore joint motion, restore muscle tone, and decrease pain. Manual therapies can help with conditions such as neck pain, back pain, headaches, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, knee, hip or ankle pain.
- Therapeutic ExercisePhysiotherapy goes hand in hand with chiropractic care. It includes services such as electrical stimulation, manual therapies, active release therapy, therapeutic exercises, and decompression. Please read the descriptions below to find out more about each type of physiotherapy we provide. Dr. Kauffman was awarded a National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) Certificate of Attainment for physiotherapy in 2011.
- Flexion Distraction TherapyCox Flexion-Distraction is a technique that utilizes a special table that allows the doctor to flex and stretch the lower back in a very specific way. This allows the muscles around the spine to relax, and it is excellent for the healing of intervertebral discs. Dr. Kauffman uses this technique the most with patients that have disc bulges, disc herniations, and inflammation.
