General Info

Dr. Ashok Raj joined the University of Louisville Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone marrow transplantation in 2000. His clinical care responsibilities include director of sickle cell disease and hemoglobinopathies program, director of hemostasis and thrombosis program, director of leukemia and lymphoma program, and director of pediatric erythrocytapheresis program. His research interests center around Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Beat Childhood Cancer (BCC), and other investigator-initiated, NIH, and Phase I-IV industry-sponsored clinical trials. He is the institutional Principal Investigator (PI) for COG and BCC and has been the PI or Sub-Investigator on over 200 clinical trials. Currently he is the institutional PI on a HRSA grant related to sickle cell disease, which is part of the NIH ECHO program and a PCORI grant related to transition of patients with sickle cell disease from pediatric to adult care. Dr. Raj also serves on the Kentucky Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund Board.
