The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is a membership association of more than 390,000 United States composers, songwriters, lyricists and music publishers of every kind of music. Located in Los Angeles, Calif., the association s repertory includes pop, rock, alternative, country, rap, hip-hop, Latin, film and television music, folk, roots and blues, jazz, gospel, Christian, new age, theater and cabaret, dance, electronic, symphonic, concert, as well as many others. Its cable and satellite licensing division is responsible for the licensing and collection of license fees from cable/satellite program services and pay per view providers.
