After going to just about ever...

After going to just about every vintage sax store in the metropolitan area, I went to KB Sax in Long Island City. Without being rushed, pressured or BSed I was able to take my time and try out many of the great saxophones (Mark VI) they had in the shop. In fact, their least playing horns played better then some of the better horns in some of the well known high priced shops in Manhattan. I think I was there for at least 5 hours. Kim was both patient and informative and was more concerned about me getting the right set up then selling a horn. As it turned out, I got myself an awesome horn and Otto Link mouth piece as well. After working with this shop, I can tell you that I will not do business or repairs with any other shop around. Both Kim and Stephan are quite knowledgeable, are excellent craftsman and really great people to deal with. If you are looking for a fine vintage horn, need a serious repair or desire your mouth piece worked on, don't waste your time going anywhere else.

I first went to KB Saxophones ...

I first went to KB Saxophones because Kim's shop is close to my work, and my son's school horn needed an emergency repair. It didn't take me long to figure out I was in the presence of a master craftsman and musician. Kim is incredibly nice, fair and he is fast. If you love saxophones.........once you walk in, you won't want to leave.
