Dr. Williams was the O.B. for my first child. Everything went fine up until I was about 2 months from the due date. At that time, I complained to him that I was completely exhausted; a complaint which he dismissed out of hand. 1 week later, I went into delivery, 6 weeks early. The nurses informed me that they were ordered by Dr. Williams to not check me for dialation. This was, from what I was told, to prevent infection from entering my body. As a result of that order, I became completely dialated without any medical aid, whatsoever. I went into labor while the nurse was on break. No one expected this, since they were not allowed to check, per the doctor's orders. Upon returning from break, the nurse checked, against doctor's orders, and determined that I was completely dialated. (Dr. Williams was not there.) I believe that if the doctor had given credence to my complaints of being exhausted, the baby may have not come so early. Terrible experience, overall.
