- Dental ExaminationSummerlin Center for Aesthetic Dentistry invites you to become a part of our extensive patient family! During your first appointment, you can expect to be greeted by a friendly dental concierge to whom you can turn in your new patient forms before Dr. West conducts her initial consultation prior to your visit. Then we will do digital X-rays, take extra- and intra-oral pictures, conduct a comprehensive exam, and begin your dental charts.
- X-raysA dental cone beam scanner is a special type of X-ray equipment that is used for complex procedures (like implant placement) where regular dental X-rays are not going to give us all of the information we need. The cone-shaped X-ray beam is moved around your head, allowing it to take multiple images in just a few seconds. These images are combined into a single three-dimensional image that allows us to examine the various dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and other factors that could affect the course of your treatment.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOn average, one person dies every hour due to oral cancer. You’ll have the best chance of survival if the disease is treated early on, but it’s easy for patients to overlook the warning signs on their own. Dr. West will keep a sharp eye out for discolored patches, lumps, and other warning signs of oral cancer during your regular checkups. We can refer you to an expert to have suspicious growths and sores biopsied so that a reliable diagnosis can be made.
- Teeth CleaningPorcelain is actually quite a durable material, so you can expect your veneers to last for many years if you practice daily oral care and avoid using your teeth as a tool. In most cases, you can expect your veneers to last between 10 and 15 years with proper brushing, flossing and regular dental exams and cleanings. We’re prepared to walk you through all the necessary steps to keep your veneers looking radiant and beautiful!
- Fluoride TreatmentMany toothpastes and mouthwashes contain fluoride, a special mineral that can make tooth enamel more resistant against decay. It can also repair the very early microscopic stages of cavities. For those who don’t have enough fluoride exposure on a regular basis, we can offer a topical fluoride treatment during your next appointment. The fluoride preparation used in our office is stronger than what you would find in toothpaste and can offer your teeth improved protection until your next six-month appointment.
- Dental SealantsChildren aren’t always able to completely clean their mouths by themselves; they’re still learning how to brush and floss properly, and they might not be able to reach certain nooks and crannies. Dental sealants can give your little ones a safety net against decay in the form of dental sealants. A thin, protective coating is placed over the chewing surfaces of certain teeth (specifically the molars), protecting the crevices they contain from bacteria and food particles.
- FillingsAmalgam fillings contain combination of silver shavings, zinc, copper, tin, and mercury as a low-cost alternative to gold restorations. While mercury is clearly dangerous, amalgams became the standard as dentistry grew more available to the general population. Traditional crowns also require metal framework to give them strength. But over time, gums shrink exposing the frame, causing a grey ring at the gum line. Metal restorations also look unnatural and can detract from the beauty of your all-white smile.
- Resin CompositeIf you have a tooth that is decayed or damaged and is in need of a filling, you may be thinking about the prospect of having a traditional amalgam metal placed in your mouth. Luckily, more and more dentists are moving away from metal fillings and opting for a composite resin that resembles the natural color of your tooth. With tooth-colored fillings, you can keep more of your natural tooth and have a beautiful, seamless smile. No one will ever need to know you have a filling unless you tell them!
- Gold Restorations
- VeneersIf your smile is marred by discoloration, cracks, or gaps, you may be hesitant to try on a smile. But there's a simple solution that will ensure you never leave home without it. Porcelain veneers can straighten, lengthen, and whiten teeth to give you the smile you've always wanted and an improved bite. Veneers are thin, strong, porcelain restorations, made exclusively for you and bonded to a prepared tooth.
- CrownsAccidents, injury, and gum disease can all lead to the damage or loss of a tooth. Don’t worry, you don’t need to live with less than perfect teeth with the help of your dentist. Dr. West can offer a crown or bridge to repair or replicate a tooth. In return, you’ll enjoy a functional, beautiful smile that looks natural.
- BridgesIf a filling isn’t enough to protect and restore the natural structure of your teeth, it may be that you need a dental crown or bridge. Damaged or decayed teeth weaken over time, and by allowing our dentists to place a necessary crown or bridge, you can prevent your tooth from being extracted and give new life to an otherwise, deteriorating tooth. Both dental crowns and bridges can be customized to match the natural color, shape, and size of your teeth, so you’ll hardly be able to tell the difference between your real and artificial teeth.
- Dental BondingAre you having trouble imagining what your new smile will look like? It’s important to have realistic expectations, but you shouldn’t let fear keep you from making the improvements you’ve been dreaming of either. With digital imaging, we can give you a “preview” of how veneers, dental bonding, and other cosmetic treatments will affect your appearance. Seeing the end results ahead of time can give you the confidence you need to make the best decisions for your grin.
- Restorative DentistryAt Summerlin Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, we understand that your time is an invaluable commodity. When you’re told that one of your teeth needs a crown, you don’t want to have to wait for weeks to receive your restoration. That is why we’ve taken restorative dentistry in Summerlin to the next level with CEREC same-day crowns.
- Root Canal TreatmentGet the care you need. During your visit, we may be able to temporarily relieve your pain. However, you might have to return for additional treatment to fully address the problem. Some common solutions for dental emergencies include fillings, dental crowns, root canal therapy, and gum disease treatment.
- Deep CleaningAlong with cleaning and sanitizing during the day, we take things to another level at night with a thorough top-to-bottom scrub down.
- DenturesTraditional dentures replace a full arch of missing teeth, whether upper or lower. Held in place with a denture adhesive or suction, a traditional denture returns your ability to eat and speak, as well as returning structure to your face for a younger appearance. Dr. West uses only premier dental materials for a denture that looks natural.
- Dental ImplantsIt’s not easy learning you’re not a candidate for dental implants in Las Vegas. When you’ve discovered a solution that offers the stability and permanence you want, it can be disheartening realizing you might have to settle for another solution that doesn’t meet your desired criteria. Luckily, the dental experts at Summerlin Center for Aesthetic Dentistry can still make your dental implant dreams a reality with an advanced dental implant procedure. Whether you need additional bone support or a sinus lift, these two procedures can make it possible for you to replace your missing teeth with dental implants. Ready to take the next step in your journey to a fully restored smile? Contact our office today to schedule an appointment.
- Oral SurgeryThe CT scan is used to pinpoint the ideal location for your implant posts, which act as new roots. Oral surgery is needed to place them into your jawbone. While under sedation or anesthesia, your gum tissue is opened to expose your jawbone. A hole is drilled into it for each post to be inserted. Your gum tissue is sutured closed, and the healing process begins.
- Tooth ExtractionsWe never want to tell you that a tooth extraction is the only option, but there are cases where it might be unavoidable, such as when a tooth is broken off beneath the gum line or has been completely compromised by decay. Extractions can either be simple or surgical. No matter the case, though, we’ll always prioritize your comfort, and we’ll work quickly to replace the tooth with an implant or an appropriate type of restoration so that your smile doesn’t stay incomplete.
- Bone GraftingTo remedy the situation, Dr. West will perform a sinus lift, which effectively, lifts the sinuses up and out of the way. After spending several months healing, much like a bone grafting procedure, you’ll return to our office and be re-examined to ensure you are ready for your dental implant procedure.
- OrthodonticsBraces – Both metal varieties and discreet alternatives are well-known for their ability to address crooked, spaced-out, and otherwise misaligned teeth seamlessly. Of course, it does take significantly longer, with the average treatment plan being 12 to 18 months. Veneers have the nickname “instant orthodontics” because they can correct minor misalignment in as little as two visits! Plus, they enhance the shade and size of your teeth simultaneously.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsSince joining our team, her favorite thing about her job has been educating patients on the importance of oral health. However, seeing them happy and confident following their treatment is a close second! In her time in the dental field, she has undergone training in everything from Invisalign and CPR to Solea lasers, making her a valued member of our team. Originally from Los Angeles, she has two children who she loves dearly, Jonah and Aly. Her favorite things to do away from the office are bake with her daughter, read, work out, and dance with her kids.
- BracesBraces: Whether metal braces or clear aligners, you can fix your bite and alignment problems to improve the health and appearance of your smile.
- Teeth WhiteningSeveral factors can contribute to the darkening or staining of teeth, including the effects of aging, certain foods and beverages, smoking, and some medications. Dr. West provides in-office and at-home teeth whitening options and can help you determine what's right for you based on your specific circumstances and goals.
- Cosmetic DentistryAn important difference at the Summerlin Center for Cosmetic Dentistry is that our first priority is to deliver the very best in general & cosmetic dental care to our guests. Dr. West is not a participating provider of your dental insurance plan. This contrast from other dental offices will grant you greater freedom to choose your best treatment option.
