Established in 1962, the DeWitt Charter Township Fire Department is a full-service public agency that works to protect the lives, property and environment from the threats and occurrences of emergencies. It works with a team of more than 30 firefighters. The department responds to over 1,000 calls annually. The DeWitt Charter Township Fire Department provides services that include fire suppression and prevention, medical first responder care, vehicle extrication for vehicle accidents, carbon monoxide alarm, public education and fire-related incident responses. The department is operated by DeWitt Charter Township, which additionally manages building, planning, parks and recreation and police departments.
