I took my clothes to the Cleaners on 3/31/12, and was ask to pay up front. I paid with my debit card. I swipe the card, and the paper in the machine was torn when the card was swiped so I could not get a receipt. Ms Kim ask me to swipe my card again , and I did. She said there was a problem with the machine the second time. She told me to swipe again, and I told her I was not comfortable swiping my card a third time. I went into my car, and called the bank to verify whether the transaction went through. It did. I went back into the store to inform her. She insisted I should pay her when I came back on Tuesday to pick up the clothes. I double checked My account online and confirmed that the debit went through. I went to pick up my clothes on Tuesday , and she refused to give me my clothes because I needed to pay , although i informed her that the money had been debited from my account. I said to her call the credit card company , verify that the debit went through, and then give me a call so I can pick up my clothes. She agreed to call the company , and give me a call. I hadn't heard from her so I gave her a call. She insisted that the only way she would release my clothes is to provide a copy of my bank statement. I was so distraught that I went into Wegman , and reported the incident to a cop. He said " don't worry you 're not the only one with that experience", " I went into the store today and had a bad experience" . He then called her to verify the information I had provided. She once again insisted that she would only release my clothes when I brought in my bank statement. She refused to call her credit card company. I went home access my account online , downloaded the information on my desk top , took it back to her store , and showed it to her. This lady was still hesitant to accept that the transaction had debited from my account. I then took out my cell phone, and called the bank with the representative on speaker. In her presence, I gave all my personal information , and the representative verified that the money was debited from my account , only then was this lady satisfied that the $39.80 was really debited from my account and then she gave me my clothes. Prior to my pleading with her that i was telling her the truth, this lady was extremely rude to me. I have never had such a terrible experience like this before. Please be aware that if you take your clothes to her cleaners, and her machine malfunction, the only way you will get your clothes is by bringing your bank statement, or verifying it in her presence with the bank representative.
