Owner Michael Johnson serves up a European style pro bike shop born from a true ( and ongoing ) passion for the sport. Besides the overwhelming inventory of frames sets, complete bikes, parts, bike accessories, clothing, wheel sets, and darn near every book and video ever produced for the sport of cycling, the real distinction of Wheelfine Imports pro bike shop is the experience of the owner. And while the retail bicycle business has mail-order this, discount store that, and ebay whatever, there will never ever be a substitute for the personal attention given to each and every Wheelfine Imports' customer in New Jersey and around the globe. Our website gives only a small sample of the inventory of bikes, bike accessories and services offered by Wheelfine Imports Pro Bike Shop. There are many many items that you will only find here including classic frame sets and components. We don't usually advertise sizes or prices. Call Michael, or better yet, come visit the store. Our shop is as close as your phone, probably in your pocket. Our web presence has help expand our business globally, but all local bike shops need your support. Every aspect of the bike business has its place, even mailorder and ebay, but I challenge you to find more experience and personal service only a local bike can provide. Keep on riding, the best way I know to escape today's turbulent times ( mixed in with some Yoga ). Thank you for your continued support. I am a fat 75 year old bike rider with a ten year old Trek Carbon fiber bike ( the same one used by Lance to win his first Tour I think ).While the bike still works, sort of, it suffers from strange shifts and frequent flats. So I brought it to Michael to adjust the shifts, and lube what needed to be lubed, and to replace the brake shoes.Since I regularly ride with a group of older friends, each day is precious since who knows who will still be there next week. Michael was great and he got the bike done in one day. Riding the bike was a revelation; it was like having a new bike since it rolled so much easier than before, shifted to perfection, and it's brakes could actually stop the bike fast. The shifting was wonderful; precise, quiet, and fast. Michael is a great bike mechanic and he has integrity, since he did not try to sell me anything else. Painting season this winter produced the following testamonial. See the results just below this text ( not the building, the BIKE ) "A few words are in order. For starters Michael Johnson is no mere bike mechanic and painter. He is an artisan in the truest sense. Earlier this winter we worked together on the complete rebuild of my 2001 Lemond Buenos Aires from the ground up. For me the process was nothing short of cathartic. Here I am a 40 year old pencil pusher who has fallen in love with this old and faithful steel frame bike. A bike that has faithfully ridden me through rain, sun, sleet, and snow for the past 8 years. Maybe we didn't break any speed records but let me tell you there was always this connection. After being introduced by a co-worker, Michael and I began to devise various approaches. And over the course of a visit to his workshop and several subsequent conversations on the phone Michael and I shared suggestions and bounced ideas against each other, ranging from colors to design to simply commenting on the enjoyment of riding down a scenic road. It was quite a journey. What I really appreciate is that Michael has the integrity to consider a suggestion versus simply promoting his own views. He listens.
