Lamar Middle School, a part of the Lamar R-1 School District, is a learning center that enrolls students in grades six through eight. The school s academic curriculum includes math, science, social studies, English, communication arts, physical education and art. It also promotes various events that include teachers workshops, art performances, field trips and parent-teacher conferences. Additionally, Lamar Middle School conducts various athletic activities that include football, basketball, volleyball, and track and field. The Lamar R-1 School District has a population of over 4,000 personnel and serves nearly 1,000 students. The district also offers several vocational education programs in accounting, agriculture education, auto mechanics, marketing, computer applications and industrial technology.
