We have been going to ACCESS for the past 7 years for our 2 elder Chihuahua dogs for critical care. Myself never having been a pet owner, I had to learn about all the care and medications that are needed for our two dogs and they were always patient and understanding to explain everything to me.

ACCESS staff HAS ALWAYS been very professional and most of all caring in every way. Most recently we had to put down one of our dogs and they were so kind to even send us a card signed by all staff who use to care for our Little Olivia (Liv's). Caring & loving staff.

In all the times (various days & times of the day and night) I have never had a bad experience at ACCESS, if anything I have and will ALWAYS recommend them to friends and family that own fur babies.

DON'T GO THERE!!

They don't care about the animal just the money. If you love your pet just go somewhere else. It was so bad I took my dog and left.

Please stay away from this vet!!!!!

Stay away from this place!!! I took one of my 8 month old German Shepherds here last week and was told she had Parvo. The thing is, she never had Parvo. They ran a Snap Test on her for Parvo that came back negative, also had blood work done that also didn't show it was 100% Parvo. So after already spending 481.00 Dr. Jones told me that I would have to pay 1,200-1,400 every 24 hours for treatment!! I also have another dog they recommended me to bring In for testing! DR JONES RECOMMENDED ME "SURRENDERING" (ALSO KNOWN AS EUTHENIZING) MY DOG if I couldn't afford it. She even said that she would treat her own dog for Parvo if she were in my shoes. Being that I am not made of money and have a baby due next week, I couldn't agree to this treatment. I stayed up all night with her giving her pedialyte and was an emotional wreck. I decided to take her to a different clinic who was willing to treat her for $55.00 a day! I took her in with all my paperwork from ACCESS, the other Vet instantly said it was not Parvo. He treated her for an intestinal parasite. After 48 hours later and only $110.00, I took a happy healthy puppy home! They did a Fecal Lab Test and found it was just Coccidia. ACCESS VET obviously only cares about money and nothing about your pet. The emotional wreck they put me through, thinking I was going to lose my dog in less than 48 hours was painful. I even took my paperwork back to ACCESS from the other vet to let Dr. Jones know how upset/disgusted upset I was with her. She wasn't In at the time and all that the younger blonde said was "Oh Wow, ill let the owner know and it will be up to her if she wants to call you back". I told her I would give the owner 48 hours to call me back before sending my experience to review sites. Well... here I am. The owner obviously never even cared to follow up with me! Please stay away from this place as there are other vets out there who genuinely care for your pets/animals, and could care less about the money.

They Saved My Dog's Life!

This place is very good. My 15 pound dog was attacked by a coyote in our back yard. We called our regular vet who was closed, but on their recording they recommended ACCESS. We rushed him in and the nurse immediately got the doctor, saying she didn't want him to have to wait. Long story short, every aspect of his stay was outstanding! He had surgery to patch up some bite wounds on his neck, and a really interesting hair cut. (They had to shave his whole neck due to how many bite wounds he had.) He is sore, but alive. We feel we owe his life to ACCESS and all the wonderful vets and nurses who took such good care of him.

Great ER Vet!

About 6 months ago, my dog ate a pair of my husbands boxers. $2000 later at another vet (who we loved by the way) the boxers were removed. Last weekend, my dog displayed the same symptoms of a blockage. Since our vet was out of town, and it was late on a Saturday evening, we took him to ACCESS. I was TOTALLY out of money since we had done this just a few months before. Luckily we took advantage of the Care Credit offered there and could pay to save my husbands beloved dog (who this time ate 3 rocks). When we picked him up, the bill came out at the LOWER end of our quote, which I was ecstatic about, and it was WAY less than we had paid at our regular vet. They were very up front with costs, concerns, and risks. If you need to be coddled or are looking for a handout, don't go here. They will tell you like it is. If you just want your pet saved, they do a great job, for a very reasonable price!

Access is no place to take a sick animal

I had a very bad experience last month when my regular vet referred my 20-year-old cat to Access Animal Hospital for treatment of urinary tract blockage. Mister was taken into a back room where I listened helplessly as he yoweled in pain as they inserted a catheter without any anesthetic. After a long wait, the vet showed up, pronouced the urine sample that I brought along "gross" (not sure of the diagnostic value of that term) and told me to leave him over the weekend. When I visited the following day, Mister was in heart failure, struggling to stand. The vet explained our beloved cat was "ancient" and that the heart failure was a consequence of the fluids they administered to treat the UTI/kidney infection. When I called later that night, I spoke to another vet who said flatly, "Your cat could die at any time." We drove out to the clinic immediately and waited without explanation for nearly an hour before they released him. We had to put him to sleep the next day. $1800 to kill him.

Saved my cat

My kitty literally was on death's door when I took him in to ACCESS. I was not aware he was so sick until we got there. After the nurse took one look at him she went to get the doctor so we would not have to wait. It turned out he was unable to pee due to a blockage. They were able to ublock him but because of that his kidney had also begun to fail. We thought he was going to die, and I think had I not taken him in when I did, he would have. Everyone there was so patient and understanding, and very very prompt! We had a call from the doctor with his bloodwork right as we returned home from leaving him there! Every other place I have gone we have had to wait hours for results. We were very impressed with ACCESS. We hope to not need emergency care again, but if we do, we will return here. Very excellent care and service!

Could not have been better

We had to take our vomiting dog into this hospital a few months ago. We and she were treated very well. They saw us promptly, and everyone went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. Daisy had to stay a couple of days on IV fluids, but was soon back to her old self. They let us come visit her several times a day, and called us every day with updates. To top it off, we got a refund when we came to take her home!! We were dreading the final bill so much, and it was a real relief to know we had gotten a refund from our original deposit. We were told they might be estimating high, but who really believes that? Hopefully we never have to use an ER again, but if we do, it will be ACCESS

Hit by Car and Saved

I took my dog there after it had been hit by a car. I was extremely stressed since my dog is a member of our family. As soon as I hit the door there was a flurry of activity. The tech that met us at the door immediately assessed how critical my pup was. They took the dog back to start stabilizing as I was filling out the required documentation. When I was finished the Dr met with me to go over my options as to the treatment - of course I wanted to do everything. When I was presented with the estimate it seemed very high so I immediately called several emergency clinics to price out the diagnosis that was presented. The cost was almost 50% less at ACCESS verses the other clinics that i called. The dog was there a couple of days I was informed every few hours on his progress. The service was impeccable. I wish they did normal Vet things and not just emergency. Thank you ACCESS KEEP UP the Great Work!!

Very good

My dog broke her leg, and this was the first place I took her too. Dr. Israel and her staff took superb care of my puppy. They gave her pain killers, explained the process, x-rayed her leg, splinted and bandaged her leg then rang ahead to the hospital (VRCC - also superb) so they'd know to expect my dog. It was not cheap, but I didn't expect it to be, what was important was that my dog was given the best care available, which she was. Thankyou.

Outstanding Service!

We have been taking our animals to this facility for years, and have never been met with anything but compassion and understanding. Veterinary care can be expensive, but after researching other emergency businesses, we will only take our pets to ACCESS. They are cheaper than the other ERs in the area. When Rascal ate a piece of his blanket, I was quoted $4000.00 at another ER. ACCESS only charged me $2000.00, and he made a complete recovery. The staff was exceptional, keeping me updated not only on his condition, but on cost so there were no surprises.Having a pet is a great responsibility, just like children. I am tired of people complaining they are denied something due to lack of money. If they don't have the money to care of their pet, they should not own an animal. There is no doggy medicaid! People should realize this before purchasing or adopting a pet.

Great Care

Our cat went into acute renal failure and had to be euthanized. The staff was very caring and understanding and we feel he had excellent care contrary to the other reviews. The facility is clean and neat and everyone was very professional. Dr. Israel did all she could to save our pet, it was just not possible. As Eli posted we got regular updates on his condition and there were no surprises as to the costs involved. Pets are expensive propositions when they get sick and most people who adopt pets don't take this into consideration. You can purchase insurance for your pet's health no.I want to thank her and the staff for all their help and professionalism.

dying dog

when our dog was hit by a car the police brought our dog to there hospital, the first thing that was said was that our dog would have to be euthenized,we already knew that due to she was hit in the head. the staff could clearly see that my husband was without shoes, wallet, or any thing except for our dog wrapped in a blanket. the staff stated that they could not do anything for our dog without any money, we offered to bring a check the next day due to being late at noc, they still would not help us sowe had to watch our dog die in angony i would not recommend them to my worst enemy

Excellent Service, compassionate staff

I took my dog who was critically ill in, and was met with warmth and compassion. The staff seemed to really know what they were doing. Everything was explained in detail to me, and there were no surprise costs or procedures. I got regular phone calls with updates on my dog's condition, and was able to call whenever I wanted and get updates. My dog also can be a little "tough" to handle, but the staff was patient with him and me, explaining to me if he became too much to handle (ie - aggressive) he would be sedated. Luckily for him, this was unnecessary. In response to another review of this hospital - the one said she was "denide." After having spent hours at this hospital I feel I have a good grasp of how they work. If you don't have any money you will be denied service. I overheard one of the techs explaining this to a client - they are, afterall, a business. I do not feel they do not care about animals, they just cannot help people who cannot afford to pay for treatment. In the e

They're terrified of animals

Took my dog here because his arm was hurting. He's a small dog, the vet was terrified of him,it seemed like she was looking at a lion, she refused to touch him or get near him and wanted him sedated, I ended up just paying for the consultation even though they did nothing to help him. Simply bad service

Shamefull

I have to agree. All they care about is the money. The cost is outrageous! Because I used a different Vet. They called Animal Control on me and accused me of animal neglect. My savings of going to a different Vet was $1,900.00. This company preys on the vulnerability of pet owners when they are under stress. What care I did receive their was sub standard and cost around $200 for a bandage. Plus treatment was carelessly done. I spent 3 and 1/2 hours there. Only to intensify my aggravation. I do hope it is not the entire staff. Hopefully it is a few bad apples that need to be tossed. mike
