Established in 1965, YMCA of West Central Florida is a community service organization. It is one of the leading charities in America serving men, women and children. The organization provides programs for kids, families and the community throughout Polk County. Programs take place in homes, schools, churches, parks, campgrounds, hotel pools and in the facilities. Located in Lakeland, Fla., the company organizes various programs, such as family programs, educational, aquatic and after school enrichment programs. It also has a facility with a gymnasium, pool, child care center which delivers community based programs, such as after school care in schools, swimming lessons using backyard pools or a golf course where it teaches skills in The First Tee program.
