Provided by YP.comIt was lunch time, and I was looking for a place to eat. I parked in a strip mall off El Toro Blvd., and parked my car adjacent to 3 restaurants. I decided to check them out. The first one I visited was Cafe Matinee Lebanese Cuisine, as this is my favorite type of food.
I felt comfortabe there from the minute I walked in. The AC was at a comfortble level, the place was nicely decorated, and I was greeted by a gracious hostess who went out of her way to please me from the moment I arrived, without being pushy.
I did not expect much in the way of food, as most Mediterranean Restaurants have "just OK food", except for some top rated restaurants in NYC. I ordered Hummus, Babbaganoj, chicken kabobs and a salad with feta cheese.
The only word to describe each dish is "FANTASTIC". I loved is so much that I went back the same day to have dinner with some friends, and intend to put this restuarant on my favorite places to dine list.
Great food, priced right, and top notch service. I recommend this place to anyone who likes good food.

A pair of the most lovely husband and wife owners have created a lil escape in the heart of a strip mall that you would swear borders the shores of the Mediterranean. The menu features hands down some of the freshest and flavorful cuisine I?ve ever had?from the chicken, filet skewers and delicious kafta to the Hummus that is HANDS DOWN the best Hummus I?ve ever had, Anywhere!!! They also have a fantastic selection of authentic Mediterranea Wines and Beers that pair perfectly with the cuisine. This has been corroborated by many a guest that I?ve let in on my little secret from Turkish to Greek to Russian and Italian friends alike.Ever since I moved a bit farther away from Irvine to Newport Beach I still find myself drawn at least once a month to my favorite gems amidst the hustle and bustle of El Toro. It?s a don?t miss for any foodie and is THE BEST value for quality of food you will find anywhere in the state.
