- Dental ExaminationDuring your first non-emergency appointment in our office, we will discuss your questions and concerns, review your medical history, and complete a comprehensive oral evaluation. Our comprehensive oral evaluation consists of any necessary low radiation digital x-rays, a dental examination for tooth decay, a gum and bone examination for periodontal disease, a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and occlusal (bite) evaluation, and a head and neck soft tissue exam to screen for oral cancer.
- X-raysAlthough we are not a party to the contractual arrangement between your insurance company and your employer, we do want to help you receive the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. As a convenience to you we will help you process your insurance claims in order for you to receive this maximum benefit. We will also gladly provide dental x-rays and a written diagnostic report should your insurance company have any questions about the services provided.
- Teeth CleaningGood oral hygiene is essential to maintaining a healthy mouth. We recommend patients have a routine dental cleaning and an exam twice a year to help prevent cavities, infection, periodontal disease, and other serious problems.
- Dental SealantsSealants are a very efficient and non-invasive method of preventing tooth decay on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Sealants are primarily placed on permanent 6 and 12-year molars in children. Sealants are flowable resin composite materials that are placed in the deep pits and grooves to prevent harmful acid and oral bacteria from getting deep into the tooth. Sealants are maintained through childhood and can last into adulthood.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeDental fillings are used to repair teeth that have been damaged by tooth decay. At Jackson & Jackson Dental, we use high-quality composite resin to replace the damaged tooth structure with a filling that bonds directly to the tooth, blending perfectly with the natural shape and color of the tooth.
- VeneersDental veneers are the most conservative option to address cosmetic and restorative concerns. Veneers can effectively enhance the look of discolored, worn, chipped, damaged, or misshapen teeth. Veneers can also be used to improve the appearance of crooked teeth or fix gaps between the teeth.
- CrownsKnocked Out Tooth: If a tooth is accidentally knocked out, contact us immediately for advice on how to proceed and possibly save the tooth. Pick up the tooth by the crown (top of the tooth, not the root), rinse with warm water and place in a clean container of milk.
- BridgesAnytime a tooth is going to be extracted, it is important for us to discuss the options available to replace the tooth. Some of those options include dental implants, dental bridges, and partial dentures. For patients who have many teeth that require extractions, All-On-4® (Teeth In A Day) may be a great option to replace those lost teeth with a beautiful and functionally stable restoration.
- Dental BondingComposite bonding is a fast and conservative procedure done to repair chipped or broken teeth, fill gaps between the teeth, or cover exposed tooth root surfaces. Composite bonding is minimally invasive and often requires no preparation of the tooth. The highly skilled dentists at Jackson & Jackson Dental usually complete this type of procedure in one visit.
- Restorative Dentistry
- Root Canal TreatmentEndodontic therapy, commonly known as root canal therapy, is the treatment of an infected nerve in the root of a tooth. The nerve is part of the dental pulp found in the middle of the tooth; the pulp also contains the blood supply and lymphatic system of the tooth. When a tooth becomes severely decayed, fractured to the nerve, or damaged by trauma, the pulp becomes irreversibly affected and leads to a dental abscess. A dental abscess is a pocket of infection that if left untreated can cause severe pain and swelling, bone loss, or lead to other dangerous health issues or spread to other areas of the mouth.
- Deep CleaningTo determine the patient’s initial gum and bone health, we probe around each tooth and record the measurements at the new patient examination. Periodontal therapy begins with scaling and root planing, sometimes called a “deep cleaning†. After the initial scaling and root planing is complete, we reevaluate the patient’s periodontal condition to determine the periodontal treatment plan. Additional periodontal therapy may consist of localized antibiotic treatment, replacing poorly contoured restorations to facilitate better hygiene, or surgical procedures.
- DenturesComplete dentures are full arch prosthetics that replace all of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Complete dentures restore function to patients that were unable to chew due to missing or failing teeth. For patients that have been missing teeth for many years, dentures can also give a patient a smile that looks beautiful and youthful.
- OverdenturesThere are three types of complete dentures. Traditional complete dentures are supported by the gum tissue. Overdentures are held in place by snapping onto attachments on implants or natural teeth. Hybrid dentures (All-on-4 or Teeth in a Day) are retained and supported by four to six implants and provide the best retention and support for ideal function and esthetics of any denture.
- Dental ImplantsA beautiful and healthy smile has the power to help you achieve a higher quality of life. At Jackson & Jackson Dental, we offer a range of dental services, including dental implants, teeth whitening, periodontal therapy, and cosmetic treatment.
- Tooth ExtractionsA tooth may need to be removed for many different reasons, including deep tooth decay, significant damage, or infection. In the event that a tooth must be extracted, our skilled doctors numb the area and carefully remove the tooth to ensure maximum patient comfort. As with all of our other procedures, patient comfort is one of our primary concerns, and we will go above and beyond to reduce any anxiety and put the patient at ease.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsInvisalign uses a series of customized clear plastic aligner trays to gradually reposition the teeth. A set of aligner trays is usually worn for about two weeks before moving to the next set of aligners. Progress check appointments are usually every six weeks during treatment. Treatment generally takes nine to 18 months to complete.
- BracesInvisalign is an alternative to traditional braces that provides a comfortable and discreet way to fix crooked teeth with confidence. Invisalign is a great option to correct mild to moderate tooth alignment and position issues to create a naturally beautiful smile or to position teeth more ideally prior to cosmetic or restorative treatment. Some of the advantages of Invisalign are the convenience of quick and less frequent appointments, highly esthetic clear aligners, smooth and comfortable trays, and reduced treatment time. LaGrange dentist, Dr. John Morgan Jackson III, is a certified Invisalign provider who will create a personalized treatment plan to deliver the most predictable results to achieve your desired cosmetic goals.
- Teeth WhiteningTeeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic dental procedures. Teeth whitening can brighten your smile and improve the overall appearance of your teeth by removing years of staining. At Jackson & Jackson Dental, we offer patients the option to whiten their teeth in office, at home, or a combination of both. These options make whitening your teeth incredibly convenient.
- Cosmetic DentistryIn a study conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, they found that people with a new smile were consistently rated as more attractive, happy, friendly, kind, successful, and intelligent. Nearly half of Americans agree that regardless of age, a smile is the most attractive feature and the most memorable feature after first meeting someone. At Jackson & Jackson Dental, we understand the value of a beautiful smile and want all of our patients to be proud of their smile.
- General DentistrySince 1986, Jackson & Jackson Dental has provided comprehensive, gentle dental care for patients in LaGrange, GA, and the surrounding region. We offer a wide range of cosmetic services and general dentistry services.
