      The Public Works Department operates through various divisions, including administration, engineering, water resources, and parks and facilities maintenance. It also maintains street, wastewater utility maintenance and equipment maintenance divisions. The department additionally operates water utility maintenance and stormwater utility maintenance divisions. The Public Works Department s administration division provides telephone support and file maintenance services and issues building permits. Its engineering division designs and manages city-funded construction projects for utility and transportation systems. The departments parks and facilities maintenance division offers city-owned and operated buildings, water and wastewater facilities, parks, roundabouts and planter strips. Its equipment maintenance division is responsible for the repair, maintenance and replacement of city-owned vehicles and equipment. The Public Works Department is located in Lacey, Wash.
