- GlaucomaGlaucoma is a group of diseases that damage the eye’s optic nerve. The optic nerve is like an electrical cable that contains about 1.2 million (nerve) fibers. Visual information is delivered to the brain by each eye’s optic nerve. Damage to these fibers causes sections of the eye’s field of vision to become more blurred. If undetected and untreated, the optic nerve can become significantly damaged, leading to an irreversible field of vision loss and blindness.
- OphthalmologyWe are following CDC (Centers for Disease Control), AAO (American Academy of Ophthalmology), and other regulatory agencies guidelines daily for the safest patient protocols. We have adjusted many things in the office to help provide the cleanest and safest environment for patients and staff. Some of those include...
- Macular DegenerationMacular degeneration is a progressive eye condition affecting as many as 10 million Americans and millions more around the world. This disease attacks the macula of the eye, where our sharpest central vision occurs. Although it rarely results in complete blindness, it robs the individual of all but the outermost, peripheral vision, leaving only dim images or black holes at the center of vision.
- Laser Eye SurgeryLASIK (Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) is a painless, surgical procedure that uses a laser to gently reshape the cornea, allowing light to focus more directly on the retina and correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
- CataractsThe good news is that you don’t have to live with cataracts. Take our cataract self-test schedule an appointment
- Cataract SurgeryPost-operative recovery for cataract surgery usually takes just a few days, during which you may experience some mild eye discomfort. You will be given a protective shield for your eye, which your doctor will instruct you when to remove and when to replace. The eye shield is generally used during sleep for several days. Vision may seem blurry when the eye shield is first removed. This distorted vision is normal while your eye becomes accustomed to the intraocular lens.
- Eye ExamAn eye exam evaluates your current vision, but also detects eye conditions that could severely impact your vision or health down the line.

- Diabetic RetinopathyDiabetic retinopathy occurs when the blood vessels in the back of the eye become weakened and damaged, causing swelling or leakage of blood in the eye. There are two types: non-proliferative and proliferative.
- UltrasoundCataract surgery is a simple procedure with an excellent success record. The clouded natural lens is replaced with an artificial lens called an intraocular lens (IOL). It is done on an outpatient basis with a topical anesthetic that will make it a painless procedure. One eye is done at a time, with a short healing period in between. After making a very small incision outside your field of vision, your eye surgeon will insert a tiny probe and use ultrasound to break up the clouded natural lens. With suction, the pieces are easily removed, and through the same incision, the IOL is inserted and positioned correctly. You may have a protective shield to wear during sleep for about a week, and your eye surgeon will prescribe eye drops to be used several times each day for several weeks. For best results, it is very important that you follow your surgeon’s post-operative instructions exactly.
- RadiologyWhen you get services from an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, certain providers there may be out-of-network. In these cases, the most those providers may bill you is your plan’s in-network cost-sharing amount. This applies to emergency medicine, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, laboratory, neonatology, assistant surgeon, hospitalist, or intensivist services. These providers can’t balance bill you and may not ask you to give up your protections not to be balance billed.

- Minimally Invasive SurgeryThe effects of glaucoma are permanent, but with early treatment, the loss of vision can be minimized. In some patients, damage occurs very slowly and treatment may not be necessary. Glaucoma can be treated with medications, laser surgery, traditional incisional surgery, or minimally invasive surgery.
