- Swedish MassageSwedish Massage is one of the most common forms in Western massage, addressing the whole body equally to reduce tension and stiffness, increase circulation and oxygen to the muscles, and increasing the flexibility of muscles and mobility of joints. During Swedish Massage, our massage therapists use oil or lotion to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes, and kneading, friction, stretching and tapping techniques. This is a highly relaxing treatment.
- Deep Tissue MassageDeep Tissue massage is a way of addressing or approaching the soft tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the muscle fibers. Deep Tissue is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, overuse syndrome, postural problems, or recovery from acute and chronic injuries. This technique is beneficial for those suffering from sports injuries, whiplash or car accident injuries.
- Sports MassageSports massage therapy is specifically designed for people who are active ranging from elite athletes to weekend warriors. This is a very popular massage style for those who feel discomfort following activity. The primary objective with a sports massage is not to get a “spa style experience” but it is designed to prevent and treat injury and enhance athletic performance. The strokes are generally faster than Swedish massage. Facilitated stretching is a common technique. It helps to loosen muscles and increase range of motion.
- Prenatal MassageMassage therapy can help with the aches, pains, and actual impingements that can be caused by pregnancy. Gina, our prenatal specialist with advanced training, uses a side-lying system to effectively treat the whole body. Techniques can help reduce low back and pelvic pain and often relieve sciatica symptoms. Pregnancy massage is used to decrease stress, swelling, aches, and soreness, and has been found to be effective at lowering stress and anxiety. The massage is customized to a woman’s individual needs throughout her pregnancy.
- Medical Massage$48Medical Massage is defined as: “A treatment with the intent of improving conditions or pathologies that have been diagnosed by a physician; this procedure is utilized to focus the treatment based on the diagnosed condition.” It is a treatment that is directed by the referring doctor and carried about by our licensed massage therapists. We accept medical insurance for this and we also work with auto insurance companies as well as Labor and Industries.
- Full Body MassageYour massage therapist wants to give you the best experience during your massage, and any questions that you ask will only help you get the experience you would like. If this is a repeat visit, maybe your areas of pain or discomfort are different this time and you would like them to focus on a different area, maybe give you a full body massage, or maybe just want some work on a specific area like the neck, shoulders, mid back, arms, lower back, legs, calves, or feet. It is perfectly okay to ask any questions to your massage therapist, because YOU will enjoy these massage sessions more if you get the massage you prefer.
- Neuromuscular TherapyMedical massage is a manual technique of massage therapy that is used for rehabilitation, from auto accidents and whiplash to diagnosed injuries or pathologies. It is not a general massage treatment; rather, it is a massage technique utilized to help a specific problem area or pathology. The act of medical massage combines several massage techniques, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Massage, Myofascial Release, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. This service is directed by a doctor and managed with a referring physicians prescription and supervision.
- CryotherapyBack injuries, in particular, respond well to chiropractic care. Pain medications will help alleviate the misery but they do nothing for long-term healing. Manual therapy, stretching, Biofreeze, physical therapeutics and cryotherapy are all successful tools in Dr. Baker’s arsenal. In addition to helping you recover from the initial injury he will also give you tips and tricks to help you avoid injuring yourself again in the future.
- Chiropractic AdjustmentsSeveral clinical trials have been conducted to learn the effectiveness of chiropractic adjustments for the treatment of migraines. The studies found that more than 70% of people who tried chiropractic care for the treatment of migraines did enjoy some relief. 22% of people reported suffering with 90% fewer migraines while another 49% reported that the occurrence of migraines was cut in half.
- Spinal AdjustmentsSeveral studies have found that spinal adjustments are able to reduce the frequency of both migraine headaches and tension headaches. The use of chiropractic care has been found to be just as effective at treating these severe headaches as the use of medications. Medications continue to serve a purpose in the treatment of migraines, but with chiropractic care the occurrence of them can be drastically reduced.

- SubluxationSpinal misalignments (subluxations), especially the upper neck and at the base of the skull. Trigger points are often found in the neck region. When the top cervical vertebrae lose their normal motion and position, muscle spasms are experienced. Chiropractic care is highly effective in treating this condition.
- Manipulation TherapyBut with all the things that these practitioners can do, it is a big mistake to think of chiropractic as a cure- all. Most physicians do not believe that spinal manipulation is an effective treatment for cancer, advanced infections, kidney disease, or other diseases. Likewise, chiropractic should never be sought by people who are suffering from serious ailments of the joints and muscles, like inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis, or compression of the spinal cord. Sometimes a disk slips as a result of chiropractic treatment, but this is rare. It is important in any case to give a full description of the problem, so that proper treatment may be applied; and also to inform the practitioner of any medications one is currently taking, prescription or otherwise.
- Myofascial TherapyAs you can see there can be multiple factors that have lead you down the path to be more vulnerable to these repetitive stress injuries. The underlying first signs of having a possible repetitive stress injury is the pain or soreness, tingling or numbness that are accompanied by a repetitive task with your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, and fingers. There are several different treatment options that are available to help alleviate the pain, tingling and numbness. Some of these therapies are Myofascial Therapy, Therapeutic Exercises, and Chiropractic Care. Here at Proline Chiropractic we provide all of these therapy options. Myofascial therapy is a soft tissue type of therapy that aims to relax the muscles, improve circulation, stimulate stretch reflex in the muscles, and improve lymphatic drainage. Therapeutic exercises are very specific for the type of injury sustained, as it allows for the rehabilitation of certain muscle groups that were injured to get back to normal function. These specific exercises are geared to helping the scar tissue to form properly, restore the normal range of motion, and help strengthen the muscles around the injured area. Chiropractic care is a very important part of the repetitive stress injury, as the injury has created a problem within the joint where the nerves and blood vessels pass through. Chiropractic care helps restore the proper and normal range of motion within the joint or joints that are injured, allowing full range of motion without any limitation of movement. When the joints in the body are able to get back to fully functioning without any impingement, then the nerves will not have that additional pressure that gives you the sensation of pain, tingling or numbness.
