Kamaaina Deals was created to be a resource for local residents of Hawaii. Our goals here are simple: 1. Provide a one-stop resource for Hawaii residents to find and take advantage of savings offered by local businesses. 2. Actively promote inter-island travel and local business. 3. Provide an even playing feild for small locally owned Hawaii businesses by proving afforable listings. 4. Provide a guide for living and playing more affordably during times of economic harships and slow tourism. Businesses choose to offer kama'aina discounts for many different reasons. Some see it as a way to support our community by offering people who live and work in Hawaii a break on certain items. Other business use the discount as a way to compensate for slow tourism seasons or to alleviate overstock inventory. We find that as our economy slows, it is becoming more and more vital that we, as Kama'aina, continue to enjoy our lives and support our local businesses. During times that tourism dwendles, there our opportunities for residents to take advantage of discounts designed to help attract local customers. It is all too often that we find that living and working in hawaii really means "working in hawaii". Our aim is to better help us 'live in hawaii".
