The one thing this man did right was to take me off a medication that I never should have been on in the first place. Other than that, he's horrible. I was pretty much made to tell my life story every two to four weeks (about as often as I saw him). Each time, he picked out one detail that he insisted I hadn't disclosed previously. Each time, he was dead wrong. It made me wonder what he was writing down when I was speaking. The most humiliating aspect of my visits would occur before I even entered his office. Each visit, he would have his receptionist weigh me in a little hallway between his office and the waiting room. Each time, she would call into his office what my weight was. There was no way anyone sitting in the waiting room didn't hear this. I once tried to refuse and he said he would not treat me if I didn't get on the scale. According to him, he did this because I was on medication and he needed to record my exact weight each time for health purposes. I have been taking psychiatric medications for 25 years and have been in the care of numerous psychiatrists during that time. NOT ONE OF THEM INSISTED ON THIS UNNECESSARY PRACTICE. Not one of them even suggested I get on a scale. Not one of them even had a scale in their office. Other doctors would always ask "have you had any weight changes since your last session?" To me, that is totally acceptable. Forcing me to get on a scale is unacceptable. Forcing me to get on a scale and then have my weight announced by the receptionist is beyond unacceptable.
