Order Number - 5195254I ordered some shoes online a couple of weeks ago. I received them on Saturday, May 27th. After trying them on at home in my living room, I realized I did not like the way they fit and decided to return them. To save some time, I drove down to the store near me - Champs Sports Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw, GA. When I got to the store, the employee behind the counter looked at his manager whom was standing about 10 feet behind him behind a separate counter near a rack of shoes. She told him that they could not return them because they had been worn. I, very kindly, explained that they had not been worn, that I had tried them on inside my home for less than 5 minutes and never went outside, no different than trying them on in the store and walking around and deciding not to buy them. Please note, even though she never came close to look at the shoe personally and stayed at the same distance, approximately 10 feet from the shoe, she began to tell me that they had clearly been worn and it looked like someone had tried to clean them off, essentially calling me a liar. My, being extremely taken back and baffled, I actually let out a chuckle because I was in such shock from being talked to like that and essentially being called a liar. I wish to God that I could post pictures of these shoes on this page for everyone to see. They are BRAND NEW and do not have a spec on them. This manager, Donterin was so unbelievably rude. Again, she NEVER even looked at the shoe! These shoes never been worn. I brought them in to 2 other stores in the mall and just asked someone behind the counter if they looked like they had been worn and they all said no, that they were clearly brand spankin new! This lady has ZERO customer service and should NOT be employed by a company that wants to maintain a good customer service model. Secondly, being as frustrated as I was, I immediately called the Champs Sports 800 number. When I spoke with the gentleman and asked what happened, he began to tell me that it was up to the store's discretion to take the shoes back or not and there's nothing he can do about it. PLEASE tell me how this is part of a 100% satisfaction guarantee promised on your website?? ALSO, he then continued to state that because I had tried the shoes on at home, they are considered worn. Are you kidding me?? That would mean that every time I buy I pair of shoes from the store that someone had tried on before me and didn't buy, that I was buying used/word shoes. That would mean that EVERYONE that orders a pair of shoes online is not allowed to try them on before they decide if they like and want to keep them or they will be considered worn and wouldn't be able to take them back. I've got to believe a large company such as Champs should find this model to be absurd. So once again, this displays poor leadership in finding and training your associates. Lastly, the customer service rep would not transfer me to a supervisor, he just transferred me to some complaint line where no one was there and I had to leave a message, which I have yet to receive a call back from. This is no longer about the shoes. I could care less about the shoes or the $100. I will NEVER do business with this company again. It is near impossible to contact someone of some significant importance as opposed to entry level customer service reps that only reply with pre-written responses. Do yourself a favor and dont do business with these people. What a disaster.
