Best True Mexican Food

The atmosphere, food, servers are all excellent.

All of the meat is seasoned to perfection. The regular salsa is excellent with just the right amount of cilantro.

The size of their shimp in some of the entres is just right. If you like fish, try the grilled talipia over vegetables. Pescado el Horno (something like that). It is just awesome.

I have never, ever been disappointed. Everything is fresh and spiced to perfection. This is a family owned business which puts the perfect touch on the atmosphere and you can see that service and good food is on the owner's mind. This is a top notch Mexican food restaurant and for those that don't like Mexican food go anyway and take someone who knows how to appreciate good Mexican food.

They have a good kids menu too. Also, stop by Dos De Oros on east side Holmes Rd. near Blue Ridge in a small shopping area towards Martin City. They are equally good and would you know it, a relative of Chelly's Mexican Restaurant.

Weekend visit to KC

While in KC for a weekend visit for some R & R my wife had a taste for Mexican, so I called up my uncle for a recommendation and he and his wife promptly said Chelley's. The four of us went their, my wife had the enchilada and two good size corn tacos, and a side order of guacamole..... I had four chicken flatas filled w/ cheese and spinach and topped with a good sized skirt steak I believe, w/pinto beans rice. I give them five stars because, 1) The flavor of the food was excellent, no overpowering chile flavor or saltiness, 2) The food was cooked to near perfection (it looked great) our food came at the same time was hot and ready to eat, 3) The service was A-1, our waitress did not write our orders down which concerned me at first but my concerns were quickly dispelled when our food arrived just as ordered, and she was very polite and attentive to our drinks and anything else we wanted, 4) This is the kicker, the bill came to a whopping $45.60 for four persons and my wife and I took had leftovers for later in the evening in to eat in our room. Needless to say whenever we visit KC now we will be visiting Chelley's. Oh, forgot to mention the chips and salsa, I prefer the mild my wife likes the hot, good stuff!!

The best beans and rice, the best cheese enchiladas, and the best, most delicious, veggie quesadillas EVER. Don't even get me started on the the fantastic guacamole, or the amazing jicama/pineapple slaw!!!!Try the lunch menu, if you don't want to commit to dinner type prices(which are still reasonable, by the way). We've always had goodservice, which is saying something, because we've eaten there, well,an embarassing amount of times. YUM!

Good food

Although the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, the food and margaritas are very good and reasonably priced. The service is excellent. The music (on weekends) is a little too loud. Clean and friendly
