      I've had some pretty painful experiences with a few dentists in the past that I would get tense & anxious in that dental chair. I'm so relieved to have found Dr. Alcantara. I've been to her clinic about a couple of times now; she & her staff always make me feel so at ease that I don't even dread the next visit. She's highly informative & pleasant when answering ALL my questions. On an aesthetic note, Dr. Alcantara's clinic is quite bright & clean; been to some clinics in the past that felt gloomy & morbid. So, this was a breath of fresh air...literally.

      Dr. Alcantara and her staff are very professional. They are thorough and serious about their work while remaining down to earth, creating a respectable two-way patient/Doctor relationship. The facility is new and the waiting area is clean and feels comfortable, helping to relax any jitters for being at the dentist.

      A former teacher for 12 years, Dr. Marra Alcantara says educating patients about their oral health is very important to me. She gives her patients the chance to understand what is happening with their dental health, taking time to individually explain the problems and solutions unique to each patient. She brings this philosophy to her new office, with digital x-rays and intraoral camera allowing patients to witness their treatment first hand. Her knowledge, and willingness to educate her patients have set her apart and built her reputation as the dentist who takes the time to explain things among her growing number of patients. With this goal in mind she has been practicing since 2007, when she graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry. She completed advanced training in 2008 at the VA Hospital of East Orange, NJ, and has worked as an associate dentist in New Jersey. She is highly skilled in many aspects of dentistry: preventative, restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, pediatric, oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry and she continues to enhance her skills through continuing education courses and training. Now she has built her brand new office in Jersey City, NJ and is taking new patients. She has incorporated the latest technology, and her office is green, ecofriendly, paperless, and amalgam free.
