      Dr. Michelsen was born in Lansing, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, receiving his Bachelor of Science. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Des Moines School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Michelsen served an internship at the United States Public Hospital in New Orleans, then a residency at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He is a long term member of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Quality Improvement and Credentialing for the State of Florida. Dr. Michelsen is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Michelsen is a member of the following organizations: American Academy of Family Physicians, Florida Medical Association, Duval County Medical Society, Florida Academy of Family Physicians, Duval County Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.
