- Dental ExaminationDental exams give us the opportunity to evaluate your current methods of dental care and provide suggestions for future care in order to protect you from complications such as cavities and gum disease. They also allow us to detect problems early so they can be fixed quickly and easily.
- X-rays
- Teeth CleaningPreventative dental care includes oral exam, teeth cleanings and routine x-rays. Preventive dentistry is the modern way of helping you keep a healthy mouth.
- Fluoride Treatment
- Dental SealantsHighly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth, dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively “seals” the deep grooves, acting as a barrier and protecting enamel from plaque and acids.
- Space Maintainers
- FillingsImmediately after an amalgam filling is placed you should avoid eating sticky foods (gum), hard foods, and if possible, chew on the opposite side of your mouth, since amalgam fillings are fully set in about 24 hours.
- Resin CompositeInlays and onlays can be made of porcelain, gold, or composite resin. These pieces are bonded to the damaged area of the tooth. An inlay, which is similar to a filling, is used inside the cusp tips of the tooth. An onlay is a more substantial reconstruction, similar to the inlay but extending out over one or more of the cusps of the tooth.
- VeneersPorcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.
- CrownsMost dentistry looks like dentistry. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.
- BridgesA bridge — a device used to replace missing teeth — attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Bridges are either permanently attached (fixed bridges), or they can be removable.
- Dental BondingPayment for any treatment(s) not included in the membership plan is due at the time of service. The membership plan benefits may not be combined with insurance, other offers, or discount/s. Our membership plan does not cover the following procedures completed at our practice: Cosmetic treatments such as cosmetic bonding and veneers.

- Pulpotomy
- Root Canal TreatmentIf you experience any of these symptoms, your dentist will most likely recommend non-surgical treatment to eliminate the diseased pulp. This injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed. This therapy usually involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or more visits depending on the treatment required. Success for this type of treatment occurs in about 90% of cases. If your tooth is not amenable to endodontic treatment or the chance of success is unfavorable, you will be informed at the time of consultation or when a complication becomes evident during or after treatment. We use local anesthesia to eliminate discomfort. In addition, we will provide nitrous oxide analgesia if indicated. You will be able to drive home after your treatment, and you probably will be comfortable returning to your normal routine.
- Deep Cleaning
- DenturesYour dentures are an investment and require care and attention to maintain their optimum performance. The fit of your dentures will have a profound affect on your oral tissues and health. An annual examination by Dr. will help ensure your denture is functioning properly.
- OverdenturesAnother option involves placing four to six implants, depending on your jaw size or shape, into your lower jaw. After healing is complete, the implants are connected with a custom-made support bar. Your denture will be made with special internal retention clips that attach onto the support bar, enabling the denture to snap firmly into place. This is called an “overdenture.” The advantage of this option is that it is much more stable than the first option and allows very little denture movement. Your denture is still removable for easy cleaning and maintenance.
- Dental ImplantsMajor bone grafts are used to repair implant sites where a previous extraction has taken place or severe bone deterioration has resulted from injury or gum disease. The bone is obtained from a tissue bank taken from the jaw or larger bones like the hip. To replace bone in the upper jaw, sinus bone grafts are performed. Special membranes are sometimes used to dissolve under the gum to protect the bone graft and encourage regeneration.
- Oral SurgeryDr. Thomasino has stayed active at the University of Florida as a faculty member instructing dental students in the oral surgery clinic in Gainesville. He also continues to support the dental community through memberships in the ADA, FDA, NEDDA and Jacksonville Dental Society (JDS) where he currently serves on the board. Dr. Thomasino has proudly called the First Coast home for most of his life and resides in Jacksonville with his wife, daughter and son.
- Tooth ExtractionsAfter tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That’s why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times.
