About The PracticeNicholas Jew, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgeon and upper extremity specialist at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, which has locations in Madison, Jackson, and Flowood, Mississippi.Dr. Jew was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended high school at Jackson Academy before completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi, where he graduated summa cum laude and received a Taylor Medal, the highest academic honor at Ole Miss. In 2012, Dr. Jew earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude.Throughout his academic career, Dr. Jew has received a number of scholarships, awards, and honors, including the Bradley Baker Memorial Scholarship (2011), the Ernest W. Goodpasture Award (2011), the W.B. Saunders Medical Physiology Award (2010), the Medical Alumni Reunion Scholarship, the Charles L. Dodgen Memorial Award (2009), and the Marcus Elvis Taylor Memorial Medal (2008). He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.Dr. Jew completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, where he trained with prominent leaders in the field of hand and wrist surgery.At Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, Dr. Jew uses a conservative approach combined with innovative treatment methods to address conditions like arthritis, carpal tunnel, ganglion cysts, trigger finger, hand injuries, and other ailments that can cause hand, wrist, or elbow pain.To stay up to date with the latest advances in his field Dr. Jew maintains affiliations with several professional organizations, including the American Society Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), and the Mississippi Medical Association (MSMA).
