Business Reply to this Review by Russ Feb 28, 2011 This type of review really is painful for me, since the customer had no real complaint when he left. Calling my integrity onto question kinda hurts. I guess I should be glad he left my mom and my ancestry out of it...This Customer who was charged $50.00 for an "estimate" either was not listening, or misconstrued what was being said. We fixed the problem as best as could be done without replacing said wiper motor and transmission. They were told that IF it broke again, there could be no bandaid fix and it would cost - wait for it- $350.00 to replace. So yes it DID work when he left It must still be working. In response to the above: I specifically remember the kid at the desk telling me it was going to be $350 for the wiper motor and when I was shocked and said no thanks, he went to the back and talked to the mechanic. The mechanic then said it would be a $50 fee for the estimate. Hmmm..other estimates I've gotten are free and why did

I called because my car wouldn't start. I was told what to check and sure enough, they were spot on with a diagnosis OVER THE PHONE! I bought $35 in parts, an hour of my labor and I'm back on the road. I'm going to drop off a gift, as this bit of advice saved me serious money (I was looking at having the car towed). I'll use their services in the future. Thanks!!!

Russ's is great. They are dead-honest. Many times I've come in with a small problem, asked them to check it out, and they've come back and said that it was nothing to worry about, they did a quick little fix while doing an oil change--no extra charge. They are like this: if something is wrong, they'll quote you a fair deal to fix it. But they never look for more ways to jack up the bill. I don't know what is up with the negative review above, but I have never seen anything like that. They take good care of you, do what you need, and not what you don't. You can't lose with Russ's. Great neighborhood place.

I've taken a vehicle to Russ's on two occasions and both times they tried to screw me over. I went there because of the proximity to my residence and because I saw some good reviews online (probably written by them). Both times they quoted me ridiculously high. $350 for a windshield wiper motor--I declined and said I'd check back. They charged me $50 for the estimate and when I left the wipers already worked NO MOTOR NEEDED. Probably just a fuse I'm guessing. The second time I went there because I was having really bad break noise. I didn't know if it was safe to drive it very far so I went back. They said there was something wrong with the E-brake and that it would be $500+ to fix. I decided it was worth the trip to the dealer because that seemed ridiculous. The dealership fixed it for $45. Its one thing to try to make a living but completely another to STEAL from people (especially college students I'm guessing). COMPLETE THIEVES--AVOID AVOID AVOID

I went to Russ' because my neighbor said they were honest. I had an estimate from a dealership that I though was extremely high. Russ' did it for 1/3 the cost of the dealership. because they only repaired what was wrong not the dealership wishlist!!!
