WARNING- Do not take your animal to this vet clinic! I wish Id read a review like this before I took my cat to this vet clinic. Spring of this year (2011) I took him in for a routine procedure (dental cleaning) and they administered a sedative before anesthesia which stopped his heart. At seven years old with no preexisting conditions, my cat died in their care. Since then, Ive consulted with a half a dozen vets about what happened. All of them discourage using what is known as a kitty cocktail dexdomitor and ketamine. Ketamine is NON-REVERSIBLE! If I had only known that Blacksmith Fork Clinics normal protocol includes giving medication that sometimes stops an animals heart, and that they use this medication even in standard procedures (not only for life threatening surgeries, etc) and also unnecessarily (as I now know there are several other safer drug combinations to use on cats).
