- Dental ExaminationPreventive dental care is an easy way to avoid serious dental problems. Brushing and flossing properly remove plaque from the teeth’s surface, as well as the spaces between teeth. This keeps decay from gaining a foothold. Regular cleanings and routine dental exams allow the dentist to identify problems and treat them immediately, removing the need for more extensive procedures later on. A healthy diet can also help keep teeth and gums in good shape.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when it’s caught early. Royal Dental now offers ViziLite Plus for early detection and oral cancer screening. ViziLite Plus uses technology that has been proven successful in identifying other types of precancerous and cancerous abnormalities. It’s particularly important for patients at increased risk for oral cancer.
- Teeth CleaningGood oral hygiene habits significantly reduce your risk of developing gum disease, cavities, tooth decay, and other dental problems. At Royal Dental, we emphasize the importance of oral preventive care so you can maintain a healthy mouth filled with healthy teeth and gums. Like preventive health care, preventive dental care seeks to prevent problems with the teeth and gums from occurring, rather than reacting to problems that have already taken hold. Preventive dental care includes daily brushing and flossing. Twice-yearly dental cleanings and exams are also needed to ensure that teeth are clean and strong. They also help us discover any problems to be addressed before they become more serious.
- Fluoride TreatmentIt’s never too early to start your child toward a lifetime of good oral hygiene and health. With regular checkups, dental care, and protective sealants, pediatric dentistry from Royal Dental can give even the youngest children a beautiful and healthy smile. Pediatric dentistry is an area of dentistry that focuses on the oral healthcare of children. This involves regular checkups, fluoride treatments, and cleanings. Our office recommends that regular dental visits begin just after your child’s third birthday.
- Dental SealantsThere is no substitute for brushing and flossing, but dental sealants are an in-office procedure that is a great way of reducing cavities for adults and children, think of Sealants as helmet over your teeth. It prevents the bacteria that cause decay from getting to your teeth. Especially for children, as they can protect 1st molars that start to come in around age 6 and the 2nd molars around age 12. The earlier you get sealants the less chance of cavities not developing. Sealing these teeth as soon as they come in is a great start on being cavity-free, which is a great investment especially in those early years where oral hygiene can be a challenge.
- Space MaintainersLingual Arch: A lower lingual arch is a space maintainer installed to assist the lower teeth. A lingual arch maintains molars where they are without moving them. It keeps the molars from migrating forward and prevents them from blocking off space of teeth that will develop later. Lingual arches are commonly used to address the early loss of baby teeth or when lower teeth are slightly crowded.
- FillingsThere is now new technology that allows you to replace old silver and gold fillings with a more natural looking, composite filling. Composite fillings are bonded to the tooth and research has proven them to be about 90% as strong as healthy natural tooth material.
- Resin CompositeModern dentistry has evolved to develop tooth-colored fillings that are made from a composite resin of acrylic plastics. These fillings will not cause your teeth to discolor or gray. Tooth-colored fillings are designed to mimic the natural dentin found within your teeth and therefore have a better bonding property to the tooth surface and offer better insulation during temperature changes.
- VeneersPorcelain dental veneers are a thin, semi-transparent tooth shaped “shell” that are custom made of porcelain. Porcelain veneers can fix gaps between teeth and/or improve the appearance of teeth that are discolored, misshaped or misaligned.
- CrownsAn effective way to fill in spaces in your smile, bridges, and crowns can also help keep your surrounding teeth from drifting.
- BridgesDental bridges can last for many years if you are diligent with your home hygiene and seeing your dentist regularly. Usually, the determinant of the life of a bridge is the health of the two abutment teeth. If you take good care of them, your bridge can have a long life.
- Dental BondingDental bonding is among the easiest and least expensive cosmetic dental procedures. The staff at Royal Dental in Houston and surrounding areas use a composite resin which they can shape and polish to match the surrounding teeth. The bonding material can repair chips, cracks, broken, and misshapen teeth.
- Restorative DentistryImplants are another restorative dentistry option that has been in use for over 30 years. With their high success rate, dental implants function and feel like your natural teeth and are now the standard of care for replacing missing teeth. They are a common alternative to crowns and bridges that our staff can place in just two visits.
- Root Canal Treatment
- DenturesA full arch denture is a removable tooth replacement option for those who need all their teeth replaced. They can be crafted to provide the characteristics (tooth shape and color) the patient desires.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants, also offered by Royal Dental, may be used in some patients to support permanently cemented bridges and thereby eliminate the need for complete dentures. The cost of several dental implants is often greater than dentures, but do yield more natural-looking results. Not everyone is a candidate for implants so be sure to discuss all of your options with your Royal Dental dentist.
- Oral Surgery
- Maxillofacial SurgeryOral & Maxillofacial Surgery is the specialty of dentistry which includes the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.
- Tooth ExtractionsThe only risk associated with a crown or a dental bridge is not receiving one soon after severe decay or losing a tooth. Delay in receiving a dental crown can lead to greater tooth decay and the eventual need for tooth extraction. Without a dental bridge your jaw line or gums may suffer, speech may become slurred and other healthy teeth may shift or become damaged. Bridges and crowns are important ways to maintain overall dental health.

However, at Royal Dental, there are many options available to treat patients that would like to straighten their teeth and correct their smile.
