Village Plumbing wanted over $1026 to move a hot water heater that was downstairs in a closet in our utililty room. We were laying new tile and the heater had to be moved out & reset so that the new tile could be put under it. The heater was in a closet & easy to get to & remove. Of course for only $250 more they wanted to sell me a new one. I told them to take a hike, our heater was only a few years old. I got another plumber to remove it & come back later to reset it for under $300 and that included new hose lines as well as a cut off valvue. Village is just redicilious in their pricing. I told the guy it was way too high but he was like sorry, that's what the book quoted. It took the other plumber 45 min to get it out & only 30 min to put it back in. I would never use Village Plumbing as they are a big rip off!!!!

I called village plumbing 6 months ago for a simple job for them and made an appointment. We live in west u, approximately 2 minutes driving from the store. They never showed up!! I gave them a second chance and wanted them to come out and give a quote on a broken waterline in my front yard. They gave me time and date and never showed up AGAIN! while I took half day off from work to wait for them. I got the job done through another company and it has been about 4 days and still no one even remembered to call and say they messed up. I had heard they are more expensive than most other plumbing companies but I did not realize they could be this unprofessional....

Mark came out to my house yesterday and promptly fixed my problem which was a total snake down all the way then I have to get a wing nut for the outside pipe coming out of the house. He was terrific and even my daughters said he was so polite.

Your 2 guys Chris and his partner represented you well this morning. First they arrived as advertised ""The cleanest techs in town"" Then Chris wrote up his plan and presented it to me prior to taking any action. Then it was time to get in the mud! Both guys worked on digging and getting ""down"". They located the broken pipe and then quoted the repair costs. The work was completed and the dirt and sod replaced along with the drive being hosed down. They waited while I went into the house and ran the water to be sure all air pockets were removed and the water ran clean. Chris changed back into his boots and looked slick and clean for his next call. Neat professionals!!! I will recommend you and your company with my head held high!

Hi Monica, I called Village Plumbing this morning and the person who answered was very nice. Then they got somebody over to our house by 9:30! The man was extremely courteous, professional, efficient, and willing to explain our problem and what he was going to do to fix it. His name is Chris Welkey. He did a great job and we are so grateful. I have already told my mother and my sister to call Village Plumbing the next time they need a plumber.hank you, T~

the technician was great he took the time to explain to me what the problem was and didn't mind going over it again until i really understood. I Would recommend Village Plumbing to others. It seems like customer service is a lost art these days. It still surprises me that companies don't take customer service seriously. It was so refreshing to have a great customer service experience...no matter how bad my plumbing issues are.

I don't normally pay attention to A/C checkup offers, because my A/C just runs and what's the big deal? But then it stopped running one hot afternoon, and Jose from Village came out to my burb, pretty far out there too near Fry and 529. Anyway Jose was very friendly, but more importantly effective! He showed me how my compressor was running at over 23 amps and that it's recommended to run at 19.
But a thorough cleaning of my A/C inside out, and a good spray down cooled off the machine and got it running beautifully again. Got it down to 16 amps, and it was cool how he showed me the electronic readout, and advised me on how to maintain the unit myself too. I guess A/C checkups are important, and I love Village anyway so I was happy.

I had a leak in the ceiling of my garage. I turned off my water and found Village Plumbers online. I scheduled service whenever they next had availability - ie I did NOT even request emergency services. They had to punch through the dry wall of my ceiling to find the leak. They were sure to include this as a ""search fee"". The plumber eventually found the leak and just put a clamp on it, saying he would have to come back to actually repair it. They charged me $471 to ""seek the leak"" and just put a clamp on it. That was it!!! Didn't even clean up the mess of all the drywall scattered over my garage floor! They were going to create a whole set of new charges to actually come back and repair it. I don't recommend anyone use them. I have since found a fantastic plumber, much more reasonably priced and even always cleans up after himself. This has made me realize how I was superbly ripped off and felt taken advantage by Village Plumbers. DO NOT USE THEM!

I called Village Plumbing when my toliet stoped working. They came out and replaced the toliet although I wasn't sure it needed to be replaced. The total price tag was 1,600.00 to repair a toliet. Yikes. I had them come out one other time to fix my AC when it was leaking. But when they quoted that the AC had to cleaned and replaced to the tune of $5,000.00. I told them to hit the road. Save your money and find another company.

I only wish zero stars was an option!
I called Village Plumbing because I had two stopped up sinks in my upstairs bathroom. They asked me if I also wanted a AC inspection and since it was almost summer I agreed. The first issue was a clogged hose from the upstairs AC unit that was hooked into the drains in the sink. To snake that it took 10 minutes and cost me over $300, What a rip off!
The second technician did the AC inspection which cost me $115.00. On the findings work sheet for my two systems I was told I needed access doorss, a start up kit the drain pans replaced, all parts and coils cleaned, and a service plan for both units. The total charges were to be $3000! I took the repair work sheet and told the technician I would look it over and give them a call. I was confused as my house was three years old and no other ititial inspection by the city or my home inspection indicated that I was lacking access doors or a start kit. I then had another plumber come out and reinspect both AC units. Long story short the code had changed for the access doors and of course I did not need them only if I was replacing the units. The start up kits I didn't need at all and the drip pans were fine, the cleaning of the coil was not necessary either. Their charge for 2 drain pans was $996.00 alone. The total was 3000.00!! This place is a total rip off and should be out of business. And service plans for $179 each, to steal my money, no way!

I had Village Plumbing over to my house in West University Place in May, 2010. I had two clogged drains and a toilet that I thought needed a bolt tightened. Robert came over and examined the clogged drain. He said this was an easy fix and would not need to charge me. He had the drains fixed within 5 minutes. He then looked at the toilet and identified about $550 worth of ""minor repairs"" for a toilet that barely gets used in pretty new construction. While I am not a plumber, I was pretty skeptical of what I thought was a very inflated estimate and will have the toilet inspected by another plumber. But the part that really was sketchy is after I declined to have him fix the toilet and rebuild it, my charge for the clogged drains was no longer, ""no charge."" It was $89.95. I always expected to pay the 59.95 service charge for coming to the house. But to add an additional $30 because I declined to do additional work that seemed unnecessary is extremely unethical. Robert had clearly stated that he would not charge me for fixing the drains. But I guess because he could not sucker me for the toilet rebuild, he changed his mind.

Over the years they have done plumbing, appliance repair and air conditioning service for me. They have always been on time, fixed it right the first time. The AC/Heating system they installed cut my electric bills in half, while it wasn't cheap it was less than I expected.. You don't stay in business for 60 years if you don't do things right.

We had a pipe leaking in our front yard and call these guys to come give us a quote to fix it. They told us that we had galvenized pipe and they would have to replace the whole line with copper pipe for a cost of $3600!. We asked them why not replace it with PVC pipe, and they insisted PVC was not allowed by city codes. Well a quick check of google proved them wrong. The city codes explicitly stated that PVC was allowed. Following my fathers advice, we (not them) checked the line going into the house and were amazed to find it was PVC. They were too incompetent (or dishonest) to even do this. Long story short, we sent them away with a $60 service fee and called someone else. That person fixed the pipe in 1 hour for a fee of $150. I would not trust Village Plumbers for anything! BEWARE
