Founded in 1963, Meador Elementary School provides educational services to more than 700 students in prekindegarten through grade four. Its prekindergarten program has four half-day sections and serves financially disadvantaged and limited English-proficient students. The school also offers regular and bilingual education and English as a Second Language programs. It additionally offers the PPCD program for preschool-level children with disabilities. Meador Elementary School participates in STARBASE, a federally funded program that seeks to create students interest in math and science. It offers opportunities to students to participate in several projects, such as building rockets, touring airplane hangars and other lessons taught by aerospace professionals. The school provides a range of supplies to students, which includes pens, pencils, folders, binders, spiral notebooks and highlighters. Meador Elementary School is located in Houston, and is a part of the Pasadena Independent School District.
