- The mission of the Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) is to collect, conserve, explore, interpret, and exhibit the material and intellectual culture of Africans and African Americans in Houston, the state of Texas, the southwest and the African Diaspora for current and future generations. Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) is the latest and most unique venue to join Houston's Museum District. With almost 6500 square feet of rental space, HMAAC has just the space to accommodate your next event. Wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, bridal and baby showers, fashion shows, corporate events, meetings, workshops, mixers - no matter what the event, HMAAC has a space for you.
