Zero stars would be better. They are still in business sadly (2018) I won't tell my story, but it was bad. My bank was involved because Ricky was not complaint at all, but when my bank got ahold of the company they were untruthful about letting me know how to file a claim. Pure lies my bank did not buy it. I provided everything I had and won my dispute. I was not having it. How do mess up a mattress? A one bedroom move and everything I owned was damaged. Smh. Ricky is garbage. People are still getting taken advantage of and it hurts me 🙁 because I know how frustrating it is and money is being thrown around. Do not fall for the good reviews those post are just people who know him. All the bad reviews out do the good ones. Terrible company, terrible service and a waste of time.

Horrible moving company, the owner Ricky is completely shady and unethical! Our movers were supposed to show up at 9am and came an hour and a half late! The movers did a great job making sure our stuff was packaged well for the move! Overall the process went smoothly until payment terms were discussed! Our movers said we had to pay cash for them and the rest must be paid via credit card with Ricky! My husband called Ricky and he said we should only pay the movers $200 in cash while the rest goes to him! We had 3 men moving and knowing they had $200 to split between them was appalling! It was clear Ricky was taking advantage of illegal workers and slighting them outright! These movers worked their butts off moving us for 10+ hours...I just hoped Ricky paid them what they deserved!!!! I would not recommend hiring this company!!!

This is the worst moving company ever. Do not use them. There is not one positive thing I can say about them.

The movers were scheduled and verified to show up between 8:00 and 10:00 am. When the movers were not there by 10:00, I call the owner, Ricky, who said they were on their way. By 11:30 when they still had not shown up, I called again. Ricky said they were just getting into the truck and about to leave. Interesting response since last call “they were on their way”. By 1:30 when movers were still not there and I was told again, “they are on their way”. At 3:30 one person showed up and proceeded to sit in the truck instead of doing something. Rest of the crew shoed up a half an hour later. Six hours late. When they delivered my furniture, not to my surprise, they were only 4 hour late. The only problem was they were scheduled to show up at 8:00 pm and did not show up until midnight and didn’t finish until 2:00 am only because my wife and I help them unload. They also left pieces of my furniture in their storage and damaged most of the furniture that was delivered.

I’ve never been more dissatisfied with a service business. Ricky is dishonest. Do not believe anything he says and do not use this company.

Words can’t describe just how bad Houston First Movers are. Every they did was bad. Do not use this company.

I never post anything negative about companies, I only post positive reviews. But I could not find one positive thing about Houston First Movers. I used them because they responded quickly, but that is where your responsiveness ended. They were extremely late picking up my furniture and delivering my furniture to my new house. Everything was unorganized and some of my furniture was scratched and dented. I would absolutely not recommend this company.

Very bad and unprofessional. They showed up late, took longer than anticipated, a lot of my furniture had scratches and dents.

Absolutely THE worst movers you could ever have. If you want a nightmare or for some sadistic reason feel a need for pain and suffering, use them. Like the review below, the customer service lady (referred to as "secretary" below, was very nice. (Of course, she's selling a job.) Ricky, the owner is another matter. Our job was supposed to be 5 hrs, four for the work and 1 hour of travel from the one home to the other. Because we couldn't have them come in the morning, we called and Ricky said they could come at 3pm, which was fine: they would finish just a dusk. But they didn't show until 5:30PM! Ricky insisted they could still get the work done. We told him that would not work--it would be too late, thus, too dark to see in our new location. Ricky's solution was to move the furniture then store is free over night then deliver first thing in the morning. We agreed to pay for their time the first day and pay for the second day after they were done unloading. In defense of the actual movers, they were good and conscientious. But again, they were late, not arriving until 11 am the next day. When the truck was 3/4 unloaded Ricky called us and said we had to pay them for travel for the truck while it was empty, adding 3 1/2 hours more to the original agreement! We settled on a different amount. THEN Ricky said we had to pay BEFORE they unloaded. Meanwhile, he ordered his movers to close up the truck with all our unloaded stuff in it, stopping their work, which Ricky also wanted us to pay for! He told us we were being unreasonable. This man is a scam artist and very unethical. I feel bad for us and the workers who actually try their best. They even apologized for having to close up the truck and just sit there. We had to pay a ransom fee to get the rest of our stuff off the truck!! Very poorly managed company with VERY UNETHICAL PRACTICES AND TACTICS to increase rates and fees beyond their promise and the competitor. DO NOT USE!

This moving company started out great. Their secretary was incredibly nice and considerate. She set everything up and was extremely professional, she even let us pay by debit card. However, the day of the move the movers arrived three and a half hours late. When I called the owner to ask why they were so late he began to scream at me using choice words because he thought I was being "ungrateful". He then decided that our move had gone over on time, which it had not yet, demanded cash for the entire move, not just the overage of time. I tried to explain that he already had our payment via debit card. I even offered to pay the overage of time in cash. He seemed to think that a debit card and a credit card were the same thing and demanded cash even though they already had our full payment except the "overage of time". It was now almost midnight. He threatened to take the truck with our belongings back to the warehouse and charge us for storage. So we went to an ATM and pulled the cash. The movers did not speak English, so they could not write me a receipt. The company did refund the debit card eventually. The owner is extremely unprofessional, he screams and does not listen. I DO NOT recommend them.

This move happened quite suddenly and I hurriedly hired Houston first movers only because of their rational quote. But they turned out to be quite awesome. Their movers were all very well trained and knew exactly how to maneuver through my tiny apartment without causing any damage. They were fast too which saved me a lot of money. They delivered on time and my stuffs traveled really well. I was very impressed seeing them at work. I will definitely hire them again.

I have seen many bad movers and the damage they can cause. But then I found Houston first movers. These guys reinstated my faith in moving companies. They were very professional and brutally efficient. I almost felt bad for how hard the men worked during my move. They knew their job very well and I had to do nothing. The delivery was made on time and nothing was broken or damaged. I don’t remember any other moving company ever being this efficient. I will surely hire them again.

I’m a single mother and so I really couldn’t afford to move on my own. I hired Houston first movers to handle the move. They were absolutely fantastic. Considering my situation, the movers helped in every way they could. They wasted no time and that really proved to be cost effective. They packed all my breakables cautiously and made sure everything is secure inside the van. The delivered everything the next day. I checked and found everything intact. This company doesn’t even charge too high. I wonder how they can afford to be so efficient on such low prices!

I cannot imagine a worse moving experience. The movers were severely late picking up and delivery my stuff. Not everything was delivered and several things were damaged. The Owner, Ricky, is doing nothing to find the missing stuff and seams unconcerned. Ricky is consistently dishonest and has yet to follow through on a single commitment. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I used Houston first movers to move my 2-bedroom apartment within Houston, TX. 3 guys, a truck, and the whole thing only took about 3 hours! No hidden fees, and I even forgot to mention the great deal I got ahead of time from their rep Sara, and they refunded my credit card for the difference the next day.

It was fantastic! They have made the huge move look so effortless. I was worried about moving because I and my wife have accrued a ton of stuff in last 30 years and I thought it’s going to be expensive. But the rep Ricky came out and gave me a quote that proved me wrong and beat out their competitors in the market by a good margin. I was a little skeptical but I found few friends previously experienced their service and praised them high, so I choose them and they delivered what they promised. The men were punctual in both end and the execution was almost perfect. I have nothing to complain about them.

Houston first movers was responsible for the easiest move of my life. The crew of four men worked so efficiently for 3 hours packing up my 3-bedroom apartment. I believe their speed have saved me a lot of money. I sometimes wonder if their movers put up a face or if they are really that friendly! Either way, my possessions were safely delivered to my new apartment. The men even offered to assemble the furniture for me. After how helpful they had already been, I just couldn’t make them do that too! I give these guys big thanks from the bottom of my heart.
