Established in 1966, Beatrice Mayes Institute Charter School, also known as BMI provides a range of learning opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade eight. Its curriculum includes various subjects, such as reading, math, science, social studies and technology. The school also conducts classes in physical education. Additionally, it provides lessons in foreign language. Beatrice Mayes Institute Charter School organizes a variety of sports events, including basketball, football, volleyball, track and field and cheerleading.
