Came in for transmission service January 2017 and was told it would cost $600 to look at the transmission. I paid cash, got a hand written receipt, and I told Daniel (manager) to call me with an estimate. He calls me for with the initial estimate of $5000 less the $600 so $4400. I told him to wait for repair so I can talk to my wife, and that Ill call him the next day. I called him the next day, and he said hes completed repair of the car. I told him I did not agree to start, so he starts lowering the price to $3200. When I go pickup the car the next day, he tells me one of his porters got into an accident with my car (they said it was the other drivers fault, which other driver said he was the porters fault). Long story short, I ask for owners contact info and he says it's private. I contacted him 17 times to get my car fixed (January to end of March). Car was left at the shop for over 1.5 months (tires went low). After which I took the car home and also inspected the transmission and found out the transmission dust cover was missing. I came back immediately and Daniel said he would not install the dust cover & claims it was missing before the repair which he also admitted that he would contact me if anything was out of the ordinary during the repair. After 3 months, Universal finally fixed my car due to the collision but with a very bad paint job/bondo work and missing/broken parts which I had to go back/forth to get fixed. Buyer beware of always negotiable transmission prices and no dust cover being re-installed. If they get into a collision with a customer vehicle, they never gave me their owners contact information and their shop insurance to make a claim after repeated requests, so I doubt they are insured. Its also interesting that my $600 initial cash deposit is not included on my final receipt (only the $3200).
I took in my vehicle near the beginning of the year for transmission work, and I couldn't have been more satisfied. This auto repair shop offered excellent customer service, and the repairs on my vehicle were affordable. Would definitely recommend
I had a very good experience with universal transmission and auto repair I took my Nissan pathfinder to get transmission repair and they fix it and my car a bad noise also and no other repair shop knew what the problem was but at universal they located the problem and fix it now my car runs great and the staff their was very professionally I would definitely refer someone there

I was referred here by a family member. I needed work done on my 05 Nissan Pathfinder and words could not explain how great these guys took care of me they had my vehicle towed in to the shop within a hour of contacting them. The manager Ralphy had me drive of the lot with a free rental car the moment I arrived very professional and friendly i had my vehicle back on the road within 2 days with a rebuilt transmission, and a new radiator installed at no labor charge. I highly recommend anybody to take their vehicle to this shop!! :)
I have a very bad experience with Universal transmission,they made me to replace the transmission and TCM in my car for no reason,then sent me to an electrician to fix the car,bad costumer service ever.
Last month, my car wasnt working right and I needed to take it to a shop, I had one of Universal Transmission flyers so I called to check on the prices and timing, the manager was really nice and he took his time to explained what it could be and he also got my car towed for free and they did the diagnostic for free. When they found out that it was my transmission was bad, the manager gave me a good price and also a warranty! The mechanics and the manager were very professionals and very respectful GREAT SERVICE. I highly recommend this shop!
Absolutely the best auto repair experience you can have. These guys are super professional, and it's clear that they are concerned for their customers' safety over anything else. I never feel pressured to pay for extra services, but I always feel informed about what my vehicle needs. Even something as basic as an oil change or state inspection is a pleasant experience. I would never take my car anywhere else!
